If you like being near the lake you will like it here.
Me and my boyfriend wanted a weekend to relax, and LES' cabin was exactly what we needed. Nice, cosy, clean cabin, with direct access to Champlain Lake. There are 2 small state park walking distance from the cabin.
The cabin has Netflix to watch movies at night, and Les left us a couple of popcorn bags to snack on!!!
Plus, I could bring my dog!!
We loved it!!
We had a very Nice stay. Les is very helpfull and gave us good advice for a daytrip, which we enjoyed a lot.
We enjoyed the Lake and the kajaks. it was a Nice and clean place to visit.
We had an amazing vacation. LES is a very friendly person and the cabin is beautiful. It is clean, well equipped and located a minute from the lack. We came with our two kids (1.5 and 2.5) and spent great time in Plattsburgh. We wanted to get away from the city for few days and this place gave us exactly what we wanted.
Great place. Les has kayaks and a nice pier for sitting and star-gazing. The rental does not face the lake, but is behind Les's house, which does.
I stood here for two days and I loved it. I did some reading, writing watched Netflix (scary movies!) The place is very clean and Nelson is very accommodating. Someones review mentioned the dog and the water- well the dog was very friendly and contain in the owners enclosed area. His bark was scary but he was very friendly. The water smelled bad but was actually fresh and clean- I drank bottle water and took a nice hot shower so it was fine. The view is spectacular and I went for a jog and explored the area which was breathtaking. Don't miss out on this cabin and get away from city life for a while- This place is a treat.
Les is a really nice and accommodating host. He was easy to communicate with and he answered our many questions. He even mailed us back something we forgot - free of charge.
The cabin is basic but comfortable and clean. The lake is beautiful, though you don't see it from the cabin (but you do right when you step outside of it). The one thing I would mention is that the water in the area is sulfured - that means that when you shower or run the tap the entire cabin smells like rotten eggs. I guess all the water supply in that area is like that, so it's nothing to do with the cabin itself, but we found it to be very unpleasant.
My wife and I were interested in tiny houses and it was great to try one out for a few nights. Les is a really nice guy and was able to give us a lot of information about the construction of the unit. He was readily available if we needed anything. If I were staying in the Plattsburgh area again, I'd definitely contact Les first.
The cabin was definitely as advertised. It was a cute place with the right amount of space to stay comfy. The deck going out onto the lake was very nice for watching a beautiful sunset. Having access to the kayaks and canoe was great for an early morning row around the lake. With the kayaks we went to a bird observatory and could have gone to breakfast at the marina across the lake. Les was a great host and showed us all the amenities as soon as we arrived. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great place to stay! Thanks!
I loved staying in the tiny cabin! It was a unique experience in a quiet and beautiful setting. Les was very kind to answer my questions about his tiny cabin and to give me a tour of the whole property. I came to Plattsburgh specifically to checkout the tiny cabin, but there was lots more to do. Be sure to take the ferry over to Vermont. Thanks to Les for giving me great travel ideas.
