The neighborhood is a beautiful, old part of Asuncion and worth walking around in the evenings. The house itself is extremely comfortable and located super close to a number of bus routes to take you anywhere in the city. Plus Julio is warm and informative. What a great experience!
Julio is an attentive and helpful host. He was supportive when there was this problem with the hot water on the first day or when we had to leave one day earlier, for instance. The house fits its description and the neighbourhood is safe.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I shall supplement what was not mentioned in the description of the apartment. Julio actually heads a rural development NGO (Mingara) in an office just beside the apartment. Their work consists of improving the water supply, sanitation etc of the indigenous communities in the Chaco. If you are interested in visiting the Chaco and knowing more about the local people, Julio and his staff are the best people to ask.
Also, Julio is very hospitable. He invited me once to have fish soup in Lido bar, which is like a time-honoured culinary institution in Asuncion. He also invited me once to his house to have Paraguayan barbeque.
I stayed at Julio's place during my trip in South America. I didn't have the pleasure to meet Julio but I was given the keys of the house by her daughter, she was very friendly and very helpful.
The place is big and a great value for money if you are traveling on a budget. It is clean, well located, close to the micro centro and provides all the basics for a pleasant stay.
