The Blue Skies cabin was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. The house is surrounded by tall redwood trees, creating a private enclave around the cozy home. We spent many hours in the hot tub watching the birds, and listening to the trees creak in the breeze. We wished we could take the kitchen home with us.
Rachel was very communicative and flexible about our travel plans. She made everything so easy.
We had a magical weekend at Blue Skies Cabin. As others have said in their reviews, it's even nicer and bigger than it looks in the pictures! The house feels very private and secluded but is less than ten minutes from downtown Guerneville-- a perfect balance. Rachel was friendly and professional and sent us a very well-written and helpful user manual well in advance so we had time to plan our weekend. I would recommend following Rachel's advice about arriving in the daylight, though-- the roads were a tiny bit confusing. The house was a perfect place to cook and relax, and a perfect base for wine-tasting in Guerneville and Healdsburg. We drove back to the city via Jenner and Bodega Bay, which was a great way to end the weekend. Thank you, Rachel! I would definitely stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Blue Skies Cabin. The highs: great outside deck where we had most of our daytime meals; well equipped kitchen with lots of room for communal cooking; separate bedroom in the little house away from the main house; hot tub tucked into the trees with a little peak at the stars; lovely redwoods surrounding us so we felt we were in a private getaway; close to town for speed runs to the grocery store. We also enjoyed a beautiful hike in Armstrong Woods; and beach day at Goat Rock and the obligatory afternoon on the rocky beach at the river with the crowds. (the kayaking was serene once we got away from the main beach).
Note to light sleepers: the doors and the main stairs are creaky and noise travels easily through the main house.
It's definitely on our visit again list.

My friends and I LOVED Blue Skies Cabin! Rachel was very communicative immediately after booking and provided very clear instructions and directions to the cabin. The cabin exceeded our expectations! The space was very minimal and clean, with lots of extra bedding and towels. There was plenty of room for 4 couples and 1 toddler. The kitchen was large and fully stocked with everything you could imagine you would need. This property is great for a peaceful and quiet weekend away with friends. Rachel is awesome and I highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning in the future!
The house is absolutely gorgeous and totally quiet and secluded. The way the house is situated, every room is quiet, even when people are making noise in the kitchen/outside areas. The hot tub was lovely. Very close to town, although the road up to the house was really scary in my stick-shift little car and the roads are VERY narrow. I was thankful for the Jeeps in the group.
Hiking and good food/grocery shopping/wineries are so close. The little book that Rachel left has some great tips and information in it about things to do.
I was able to get ahold of her about some questions we had about the house via email, but not phone. She always got back to me relatively quickly. I think there were some snafus with the cleaning service before we arrived, but this doesn't seem to have been a problem with people who have reviewed before me, so we'll chock it up to a one-time thing. All in all, very nice place for the size, location, and price.
What can I say about this place? It was magical, well stocked for couples and families, and the hot tub is awesome. The kitchen is large so adults and kids aren't jousting for space. Friends back home in Italy that saw this place on Facebook wanted to be there with us. I definitely want to go back!
Rachel was a fantastic host! She provided clear and detailed instructions on how to get to the house, and she was very responsive to all of our questions. The house was accurately depicted in the pictures: it had a wonderful deck, large bedrooms, and was surrounded by redwoods. It was the perfect getaway for my friend's bachelorette party. Our favorite aspects were the large, well-stocked kitchen and the great hot tub. Thank you Rachel for sharing your cabin with us!
Very eclectic house! The main house is great and super comfortable. We took advantage of the outdoor dining area for multiple meals and the hot tub was awesome and ready to go as soon as we got there.
We were a group of 8 adults and were fairly comfortable in the space. Agree with another review - the upstairs rooms and bathroom in the main house are the nicest. The downstairs is pretty dark with a low ceiling, so it's good for those guests who like a little more privacy. The separate shack with the half bathroom is best for kids, but it's a little rustic for most adults. Beds were very comfortable though!
The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and various spices and is large enough for multiple people to prepare food. The indoor table is great for gathering around on the the colder, late nights. The bathrooms were well stocked with towels, toilet paper, and the like.
The drive up to the house is probably intimidating at night, but it's not too bad once you get used to it.
Rachel was very informative. Very easy to work with. The house was amazing. I highly recommend it. The cabin was the perfect place for my group of friends.
