Older couple who own Blue Heron B&B in Indianapolis. Gail is an artist and John is a retired contractor. we need twin or king bed preferred
Gail was a very welcoming host. The home is as described, in a lovely peaceful setting to the north of the city, but easy to drive downtown. We had both rooms, the one in the upstairs/attic was comfortable with an ensuite - and good hot shower - and suited me and my adult son perfectly - the other room is was occupied by my daughter and husband and is especially lovely, with its own kitchen as well. Breakfasts were generous cooked local fare - we all (hosts and us guests) ate together. We stayed for the Indy 500 motor race and Gail made us a lovely set of breakfast rolls and juice to take early on raceday. Being able to sit at the end of the day at the river's edge and read or chat (including with Gail and her husband) was an added bonus. They do have two small dogs - I hardly noticed them around.
Lovely place, lovely hosts! I'd recommend "Blue Heron B&B" to anybody. Gail and Paul are gracious hosts. They gave us a huge and delicious breakfast served with friendly conversation. They seemed genuinely interested in our reasons for visiting, what we wanted to see, and any needs we might have. The room is a "mother-in-law" apartment with its own entrance. The house is in a wooded park-like setting, a quiet cul-de-sac right on the river. We could take our coffee down on the dock and just watch the birds. Lovely all around!
John and Gail were very accommodating and friendly. The home was in a quiet and secluded neighborhood and was quite comfortable and easy to get to. Lots of great things to do - restaurants, parks, bars, bike path.
Gail and her husband are very kind.We had a pleasant three nights here.

The house is in a great location just north of commercial Broad Ripple (approximately a mile) and nestled on a quiet street along the White River. The rooms provided privacy, beds were comfortable, breakfast hearty and the hosts and their 2 Boston terriers were warm and welcoming. A nice play to stay in Indianapolis. In good weather it is ideally located for a leisurely walk along the Monon trail or sitting by the river and watching wild life.
My husband went to visit our daughter who is in college and they both ended up staying at the Blue Heron. The room was comfortable and my daughter loved the food that was served for breakfast. They enjoyed their time visiting with Gail and her husband.
Gail made me feel welcome. She was a great breakfast companion.
It's a beautiful, tranquil spot along White River, convenient to Broad Ripple. I reserved this room for some business guests from China and they were extremely pleased with their experience, and took every chance they could to stroll along the river and enjoy the fall foliage. Though it was a new experience for them, they really enjoyed staying somewhere different than your typical generic interstate hotel, and appreciated dipping their toes in the local culture. And they loved the breakfast!
Gail was a pleasant and helpful host. The neighborhood is great and has good access to nature. The room was fine and has interesting architecture. The WiFi was marginal, so it may be difficult to conduct major computing activities.
Wonderful people, kind-hearted and a lot of fun to host . I recommend Gail and her husband any day of the week.
