I own and manage an ocean-going tugboat company. I speak French and Spanish reasonably well, and welcome international travellers.

Even though Rachel wasn't present during our stay she was very easily contactable and quick to reply to any questions and went out of her way to help us out. The house was located within walking distance to the French Quarter and had a number of cafes around it for breakfast , lunch and coffees. There is a small fridge which is good for some milk and a few snacks etc, coffee maker, kettle and microwave but not actually cooking facilities which was fine as we were there to experience the local cuisine anyway! A cute house in a good location, we would definitely stay again!
Rachel was a friendly hostess, and her place in the Marigny is awesome! Her home is clean and well decorated. We enjoyed the proximity to coffee-shops and restaurants, and Frenchmen Street. We will definitely be back!
Rachel was the perfect host. A charming, spotless and spacious home in the most wonderfully funky part of the city, walking distance to the best NOLA has to offer, would have been enough -- but Rachel's attention to detail put the icing on the cake. There was nothing she didn't think of, and her eclectic taste made us feel right at home. We have visited New Orleans many times, and Maison Mandeville has been the best place we've stayed by far. After the first day, we felt like we were part of the neighborhood; breakfast coffee at the corner cafe, evening strolls to Frenchmen Street. Easy parking on the street at all times, safe, quiet (but not boring) and perfect in the Marigny way. Highly recommended!
My friend and I just spent 8 days at Rachel's perfect maison in the Marigny. The home is attractive and comfortable. We enjoyed the Marigny and walked everywhere from there without a problem. Rachel is a warm host and also has lots of reading material about New Orleans.
Highly recommended. The only downside is there is not a kitchen just a basic microwave/fridge. But eating out is a highlight in New Orleans so this wasn't a big deal.
Loved the club Mimi's which is close by and serves up delicious tapas and jazz.
We had an excellent time staying in Rachel's apartment. It's a very charming space in a great location, especially for the music on Frenchmen Street. Rachel is very welcoming and was very helpful in answering all of our questions. Her guidebook is a great resource, and you can tell that she really loves her neighborhood. We hope to stay again soon!
Rachel is amazing, as is this house. We arrived late off our flight from New York, and Rachel was up waiting for us to settle in. She is above and beyond in making every detail of the house feel like a true New Orleans home, from artwork to the books, to the inviting sounds of jazz on the stereo. The house itself is gorgeous, in the lovely Marigny, a safe + convenient neighborhood from which to explore NOLA. We loved coming home on warm afternoons + relaxing on the porch. The extra bedroom in the back is well-worth it. We were super sad to leave our little home away from home, and can't wait to return. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a real New Orleans experience.
rachel's house was the perfect place to discover the marigny for the first time! we loved that she's next door to share her knowledge and love of the neighborhood. we felt right at home . . right down to the cats hanging out with us on the front porch. oh, and don't miss our favorite breakfast spot . . the charming "cake cafe" (fabulous biscuits, omelettes and pastries!) see you soon rachel!
What a wonderful and beautiful space! My friend and I stayed at Rachel's place for Mardi Gras. We would definitely recommend Rachel’s place to family and friends.
Rachel was the perfect host. She was warm, friendly and easy to communicate with. During our stay, she provided us with wonderful suggestions with respect to sights to see, things to do, and places to eat. Rachel had a wealth of knowledge about NOLA and its history, insights regarding local neighbourhoods and their traditions, but also encouraged us to check out the traditional tourist hotspots in the French Quarter and beyond. These were all very helpful recommendations.
Her home was beautiful, extremely clean and perfectly located in the Marigny, a short walk from the French Quarter.
Maison Mandeville is a beautiful place in a beautiful neighborhood. Surrounded by coffee shops and friendly neighbors, this is where I would live if I moved to New Orleans. Very close to Frenchman Street - the place we mostly went at night for great live music.
Cool guest forever :) Rachel is an active person. She is easy too learn about the new cultural things and adopt well with the new environment.
She also very kind have a good heart. We are feel comfortable with Rachel and love her.
Rachel was a delight to deal with and we were thrilled that she decided to stay in our apartment. We really hope to have to her to stay again and to meet her in person.
We really enjoyed having Rachel as a guest in our home. It was easy having her around, like an old friend or one of the family. We had some good, enthusiastic conversations. I highly recommend her as a guest in anyone's home. We look forward to meeting her again.
Rachel set our record for the shortest guest-stay ever: 10 hours! She was great fun, however, and we're glad we agreed to her hastily arranged, last-minute stay. She's an Airbnb pro, and she knows how to be a good guest (and host, too, judging from her own listing). If Rachel asks, book her!
Rachel was an absolute delight! She is cheerful and very respectful of personal space. Rachel is an Airbnb host in New Orleans and I look forward visiting her place very soon.
Rachel and John Mark were perfect guests and interesting people. They left the place in perfect condition. Communication was good from the start and continued through to the end.
We loved hosting Rachel and her boyfriend for 2 nights. They were so interesting and well travelled and were all round perfect guests. While they were here they enjoyed bicycling in the small towns and country roads of the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts. We immediately felt comfortable with them and would welcome them again in the future.
