Our stay at Ana's was very pleasant , we were in Brooklyn for the birth of our first grandchild , baby Grace. Ana's apartment was conveniently close to our daughter and son in laws apartment , close enough to walk if weather allowed. The apartment was cozy and provided all that we needed for our visit. Ana and her husband were very gracious hosts ,making sure everything was suitable.
Ana made us feel most welcome and provided an excellent stay, complete with a bottle of sparkling wine! They kindly provided soap since we had forgotten ours. The room was even nicer than expected! It was very large and had a couch, sink, television and glass table. It felt like we had our own apartment even though we were only renting a room. The shared kitchen was also really useful. We felt very much at home.
My arrival time was unfortunately delayed 40 minutes, so no one was there when I arrived. However, when I called the landlord (Ana's husband probably) headed right over and was there in 15 minutes to let us in (they live downstairs). He even gave us a bottle of rose -- maybe this is normal practice for them, or maybe he felt bad that we were kept waiting. Anyway, once we were in the room, we had a great experience. The room was cute with its own sink, fireplace, beautiful glass dining room table, and incredibly comfy couch. The bed wasn't the most comfy thing ever, but hey, we didn't come to NYC to sleep. Our room was on the top floor, and we shared the bathroom and kitchen with one other tenant, on the floor, probably also an Airbnb-er.
The house is near the subway around 10 minutes by walking and there are many store on the street, it's very convenient.
The host is very friendly, he treats us a bottle of white wine. The room is clean, we took a hot bath and sleep very tight.
Remember to bring tooth brush, shower gel, shampoo.
I love Ana and Willem as hardworking hosts for their true NY brownstone experience. The house, room, kitchen and bathroom are very spacious, bright and comfortable. I did feel at home at once and was helped with everything when needed. The neighborhood is absolutly real NEWYORKCITY and deserves a compliment for its easy, safe, extremly friendly and welcoming attitude. This is not the typical sightseeing aeria and tourist are rarely venturing here - and I hope this will stay like that for the sake of the community.
The room was lovely and exactly as described. Ana and her family were very welcoming and helpful. The house is a short walk to the subway and near some nice restaurants.
Ana met us at the door and showed us to the room. Exactly as described, large and spacious and also quiet! The shared kitchen is fully outfitted with stove, filtered water and a fridge made breakfast prep a snap, we also had a sink in our room. The house is located in Crown Heights and is just a short walk to the subways. The neighborhood is full of great restaurants and the house is very welcoming. We stayed here for a week and Ana and her husband made sure that they checked in with us to see if we needed anything.
Our hosts were great. Very helpful. The location was perfect, easy access to public transportation, and close to Manhattan. I recommend staying here.
We had a very nice visit. The room was spacious and comfortable. Great location! The hosts we very kind.
This is a nice, big room in a beautiful old house in Crown Heights. A great place if you want to stay in Brooklyn.
Ana's husband, William was a very good guest. I helped him get to the rental car agency, then he would let us know when he was coming or going out. He cooked a meal for us one night, which was excellent! He stripped the sheets off on the last day, but we would have done that for him. He was a very pleasant guest and called to say how much he enjoyed his stay in Grosse Pointe.
