The house was a perfect "German Village" home. We had a bedroom, a sitting room and our own bathroom. Jeffrey was laid back and we felt very at ease to come and go as we wanted. We had a great experience!
A charming host with a charming home in a charming neighborhood!
Our trip to Columbus far exceeded our expectations, and it all started off with a friendly greeting from Jeffrey. He was more than happy to help us with directions, and gave recommendations that worked out very well. Jeffrey's home was more than adequately prepared for us, and we found ourselves immediately at ease. The location of his home was absolutely perfect, as it is located right off of the highway, and is just a few minutes drive from downtown.
There is more and more praise that I can heap on top, but I'll spare everyone and just say this: this is exactly what the Airbnb experience is all about. Not only that, but I found my girlfriend looking up homes for sale in the area as a result of our trip!
Thank you for everything, Jeffrey! We will definitely look for availability with you again when the times comes to visit Columbus... If we don't find our own home there, that is.
Terrific location, privacy, and garden patio. Accommodating, informative, relaxed host, who makes excellent home-roasted coffee. This upstairs room and bath are small (though well renovated, with good climate control); no desk/chair for attending to work matters you might have brought, though a handsome dining room at the foot of the stairs is quiet and available. Good restaurants in walking distance; buses to other neighborhoods run nearby.
Jeffrey saved the day for my coworker and me. We were in town for the USA vs Mexico world cup qualifier game, but all hotels in the area were sold out. Luckily he had two vacant rooms and responded to my request very fast. The two rooms were in the back of the house and had two separate bathrooms for us to use. We had access to the kitchen, patio area, and had two comfortable beds to sleep on. He also gave us some tips on where to eat around the beautiful German Village. Thank you again Jeffrey!
The German Village in Columbus, Ohio, is one of those few areas in the United States where vernacular 19th century architecture has been nearly fully preserved over a large area. The hundreds of smaller brick homes with individual styling, courtyards and artistic ironwork are connected by tree-lined brick streets and sidewalks. They create an enticing atmosphere unlike any other I know in the US. Jeffrey Petit's charming home, fully restored, clean, orderly and a pleasure to behold, is characteristic of the neighborhood and most enjoyable.. It is augmented by a delightful private courtyard, which irresistably invites guests to relax and listen to the fountain. Well-known and highly regarded shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. And Jeffrey Petit's hospitality is by no means "small"! He is gracious and most accomodating. You will most certainly enjoy your stay in this unique environment.
Jeff is a very gracious host and nice person! Every morning he has fresh French Pressed Coffee ready to go. The home has a beautiful court yard where you can sit, have your morning coffee, and work on your laptop. The house is also in German Village. A neighborhood of which I was familiar with. The area is quaint, quiet and very well located to get around Columbus.
Jeff's house was stunning and cosy. The area was really close to downtown but felt completely unique from other Columbus neighborhoods. He was more of an early riser than we were--no doubt we found fresh pastries and strong coffee waiting for us. To get the full experience, we sat outside in the side courtyard and soaked in the sounds German Village. My partner and I considered moving.
