I'm a Ph.D. student from England, studying for a doctorate in early modern English and Spanish drama at the University of St. Andrews. Unlike the majority of Ph.D. candidates, however, I have retained my ability to interact with other humans. Although I rarely read anything from beyond the 17th Century, this is only because I struggle both to justify reading for pleasure these days and to relax by reading when it's pretty much the sole activity of my working life. When I'm not doing that, I love to cook, play guitar, sketch, walk for hours, and take care of my dog.
As both a traveller and I host, I can be quite flexible in my attitudes. Sometimes, I like to keep myself to myself, and others, I enjoy interacting with my hosts/guests, gauging each situation and aiming for what I like to think is a healthy balance between the two. As a host, I'm obviously less available when sharing the property, because I have to keep up with my regular life.
