Apartment was okay, but wasn't the cleanest and didn't have sheets as shown in the picture. I had to febreze the room before I could sleep there and my host's dirty clothes were in the drawers (which also had mysterious sticky stains). It's also a fourth floor walkup, so be warned. That being said, the a.c. was cold and the subway was nearby, so it served my purpose as a temporary crash pad before my lease started.
This was a good, simple room. Kyle was not there, but he was very accommodating by email. His roommate Anooj was there. Anooj was a good guy and easy to get along with. He wasn't there very often, so I was alone most of the time.
The area is good, with 2 delis 10 ft away, 4 restaurants within 2min walk, and a bunch of bars. It's also very close (5min) to Smith St and the Fulton Mall so there is plenty of shopping. Great grocery shop one block away ( Corner of Hoyt and State) . Transportation is incredibly accessible, being 3 blocks away from the Barclay's Center bringing you to the city in 10min.
I would definitely recommend this room and would stay there again if need be.
Kyle was not there, his flatmate Anooj is a nice person and good to have a chat with. The neighborhood is safe and close to many restaurants and bars, the location is perfect for commuting to Manhattan with many subway lines nearby. Not the cleanest place, but overall a good experience.
I didn't meet Kyle, but his roommate Anooj was kind to hand over the keys and show me around. The room is good for the price. Great location close to the subway in a nice area.
