Hi, I'm Martin - if you're reading this it's probably because I'm staying at your place during my travels May-June 2012 in France, Spain, and Italy. This is my first experience with AirBnB. I'm really looking forward to staying in some great places, and I'm hoping to make a few lasting friendships along the way.
A little about me:
I'm a dual French-American citizen but I was born and raised around Philadelphia, PA. I've been to France many times to visit my family and my French is decent, but I could definitely use some practice!
I have just completed my Bachelor's degree in City Planning. I am especially interested in exploring historic neighborhoods in the cities I visit and immersing myself in the architecture. However, my career interests lie in the social side of city planning - affordable housing and community development in particular.
I love to discover new flavors, but since I'm vegetarian I have sometimes had a difficult time in Europe. Luckily I also love to cook! The ideal place I am looking to stay will be close to local markets and have a kitchen for me to use.
I'm travelling with a close friend of mine named Andrew, who I've known since I was very young. We're both very easy-going, respectful, and clean. Most of our trip will be spent driving through the countryside between cities, walking the city streets, and finding places to stop, sit, relax, read or write, and just take in our surroundings.
We're also definitely interested in meeting new people and having a great time. If you're the kind of host who wants to show us around your favorite spots and introduce us to some good people, great! If you'd rather just let us into the apartment and let us be, that's perfectly fine too.
You've actually read all this? Maybe that means you've got what we're looking for in a host and we've got what you're looking for in your guests! If so, I genuinely look forward to meeting you.
