We are retired (US Marine Colonel and university administrator) and have homes in Fort Collins, Colorado and Nanjing, China. Customarily, we travel to China in November and return to Colorado in March. However, this year we are traveling around the world with our first stop in Japan (November 2011) before continuing to China (December - February 2012) and then on to Europe (March - April) and North America (late April).
Activities and interests we enjoy together include: cycling, tennis, alpine hiking/camping, photography, gardening, literature, fine cuisine/wine, charity/volunteering, and educational travel. We strongly endorse the belief that "quality people leave things better than what they found them" and we are serious about protecting and improving our environment.
UPDATE: We completed the ATW trip in APR2012, spent the next year in Colorado, Taiwan and China, then returned to Colorado MAR2013 where we are planning a trip to Alaska 12AUG - 3SEP2013.
UPDATE: We completed our three week visit to Alaska. While there, we used and enjoyed Airbnb accommodations in Anchorage, Homer and Fairbanks.
UPDATE: We are spending the Holidays in Colorado; then will visit Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar en-route back to China. We are now back in China. While in SE Asia, we made use of AirBNB apartments in Bangkok, Siem Reap and Yangon. In each case, we were very satisfied with the facility and enjoyed meeting the folks associated with the apartment.
UPDATE: We spent most of October, 2014 traveling in the US Northeast where we stayed at six different AirBNB locations. As usual, the accommodations were convenient and economical, with interesting and informative hosts.
