I was an AirBnB host for the last two years in Chicago and am now living in Houston, where I have just listed a brand new home. I had a wonderful experience hosting people while in Chicago and am looking forward to doing the same in Houston!
A bit about me: I grew up in Europe (Army brat), living in France, Italy and German for the first 12 years of my life. I speak French fluently (my mother is from Paris) and some Spanish. In my early 20s I was a teacher with the Peace Corps in Cameroon, West Africa, and then later lived and worked in Haiti as a curriculum designer for the Haitian National Police Academy (that was before it all went to hell in Haiti!). These days, I live in Houston and work for a trading firm as their director of organizational development.
I am an amateur photographer and ceramic artist in my spare time and I love to cook and bake and am very committed to organic, whole foods. I am also into hiking and love to camp--as long a it's not extreme camping! I have been on a few "extreme" hiking/camping experiences and have concluded that I do require some creature comforts.
Overall I am an open, easy going person who gets along well with most everyone, who enjoys lively conversation, who loves to talk about art and movies and politics, but who can also sit quietly and read or listen to music.
