Hi! I'm John, a business travel journalist, frequent flyer and true man about the world. I travel all the time, and I'm an enormous fan of staying in Places That Aren't Hotels. Airbnb is clearly my idea of heaven.
Much of the time I'm on the road (and especially during the week) I'm working on my laptop: researching, writing, editing, all the kind of thing that goes with being a journalist. So I love to settle into a sofa to work or find a tiny coffee shop with wifi. That means I'm pretty quiet and self-contained most of the time, but I do need access to the place I'm staying during the day and for the wifi to be reliable.
When not at work, I sing tenor in choirs, indulge my photography hobby, relax by pools with fruity beverages, adore road trips, prefer quiet drinks out at a bar to clubbing, and geek out about travel.
Words that describe me: British, American, 30, gay, friendly, extrovert-who-needs-quiet-to-work, eccentric, geek, musician, singer, linguist, global citizen.
Things you should know: I snore a bit, I have a real love for languages and accents that means I may speak yours really badly (but please don't take offense!), like my tea strong and milky, sing in the shower and my job means that every so often I have to be up typing at slightly unsociable hours. I'm a fairly quiet typer, though.
You can find me online too! I tweet @thatjohn and blog as well.
