We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely, bright and cosy apartment. We received a friendly welcome and were made feel at home. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous hospitality in the form of milk, gorgeous bread, tea, eggs, butter and orange juice! It was much appreciated as we arrived in the evening. The location was fantastic with easy access to the dart and the beautiful village of Dalkey. The apartment also had a lovely private garden which made you feel like you were in the country.
The apartment was lovely, quiet, and immaculate. You can walk to the sea (beautiful) or the DART station in a half hour or less. Transportation into Dublin is available just down the road at the bus stop and buses are frequent (the ride into Dublin city centre is about 50 minutes). I enjoyed the ride because we passed through lots of towns and villages. Philip picked me up at the coach station in Dalkey and give me a mini-tour as we headed to the apartment, very kind and it helped to situate me a little. There is also a guest book with maps and flyers and information which I found very helpful. I really enjoyed my stay!
Nous avons passé trois nuits dans cet appartement très cosy. Sa situation nous a permis de découvrir facilement Dublin et Glendalough. Un accueil très gentil de Venetia et de son conjoint.
Extremely well equiped apartment. Idealy situated to visit Dublin and places like the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough. Our hostess and host are easily reachable and very sympathetic. We recommend !
My daughter and I stayed in Killiney apartment for two weeks and had a great time. Venetia is a lovely friendly helpful host. She collected us at the aircoach stop and left plenty of food for breakfast. The apartment is as the photos show, very cosy, comfortable and clean. Fifteen minutes walk to the DART station and ten minutes walk to the nearest bus stop. There are also supermarkets and a shopping centre nearby. Beautiful area with lots of walking paths and 30 minutes from the centre of Dublin by train. If I go to Dublin again, I'll definitely stay at Venetia's because she made me feel safe and at home.
Venetia is a fabulous host and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in her Killiney retreat. The apartment is very comfortable, with its own garden, and Venetia is extremely responsive. The one thing to be aware of is its location, which is ideal if you've got a car and want to be near enough to Dublin but with easy access to other routes. It's reasonably well-served for public transportation, but it'll take you about an hour to get into the city. Walking to the DART is your best bet, or taking the bus (the closest, with less than 10-minute walk). I don't recommend the Luas--the DART is faster and closer, with a more pleasant walk.
Venetia was a brilliant host - she stayed in contact well, and even offered to meet us at the DART station to help with our bags, which was really welcome after a long days travel.
At the beautifully clean and spacious apartment, Venetia had left us wit bread, butter, milk, biscuits, some cereal and jam so that we had some things to start us off in the morning what was a particularly nice touch.
The neighbourhood is safe and easy to navigate - the DART takes you into Dublin centre in around 40 minutes, or you can get out to Bray or Greystones much faster. We were also near several bus routes which as non-drivers made it a good place for us to stay. I recommend getting a Leap card if you are going to use public transport in Dublin as buses don't take cash...
The apartment was a perfect size - well equipped kitchen, washer / drier with some washing liquid available to use, spacious bathroom and very comfortable bedroom. We could use the free wifi and tere was even a little private garden to sit out in over your morning cup of tea.
This is a splendid and quiet place to stay to see Diublin and perfectly situated to explore Wicklow county further. Highly recommended!
Had a great time in this Killiney apartment. The apartment was cosy and comfortable and perfect for two. The area is also quite lovely to explore, and we were able to go for a nice walk on paths through the gorse to check out the gardens and Obelisk at the top of Killiney hill. Would be happy to stay here again if we were in the area.
If anything, there was a lack of hot water at times. But this seemed to be fine as long as you remembered to shower earlier rather than later in the day!
Thanks for a wonderful stay and the welcome goodies on arrival!
Thanks Murray - we'll take steps to sort out that water issue, and hope to see you again.
My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time in Killiney. Venetia was a lovely host and we really appreciated that she was able to pick us up at the bus station on our arrival. Venetia was quick to answer all our questions when we were in the apartment. The place is very lovely, and nice and clean. Exactly as described in the add. The walk to the DART station takes roughly 15 minutes and then its another 30 minutes into the city. The travel is so scenic we didn't mind the time it took. There's also many lovely walks to be had in Killiney.
The listing was just as described and Venetia was very helpful and friendly! She even picked us up at the bus drop-off at the Fitzpatrick hotel and drove us to her place and put enough food in the fridge for breakfast. The apartment was very clean, modern, and well-furnished, and it is just a two-minute walk away from a series of trails leading in and around the beautiful neighborhood of Killiney. It is also within walking distance of two corner stores with basic groceries and slightly longer walking distance (20 minutes) of a large grocery store (Tesco). Pubs in several directions, too, the best of which is the Druid's Chair, just over the hill overlooking Killiney Bay. We had a really lovely time!
