The apartment was really nice, our host Venetia met us on the morning of our arrival. She was very helpful friendly and polite providing maps and information about the local area. As we were out throughout most of our stay airbnb provided an effective communication method that I feel also respected our privacy. All in all a comfortable stay at reasonable price close to Dublin City yet far enough away we could enjoy the quiet of a small village. I would recommend this apartment in the future
Great apartment in a great location. Everything was like new, with superb hosts. Could not have asked for more.
We really enjoyed our stay in Killiney! Venetia and Philip were very accommodating and helpful. The location is perfect, lots of lovely walks around Kiliney and Dalkey nearby. The place was very clean and the host provided a lovely 'welcome pack' for us. I would definitely recommend staying here!
The description of the apartment was very accurate and my friend and I were very pleased with our stay. Venetia and Philip were super accommodating and were more than happy to answer our questions. The apartment is a bit far from Dublin city centre and the neighborhood is very quiet, but it normally only took 40 minutes on the bus to get to the city. We really appreciated that they thought of everything: they provided chargers, groceries, etc. We were also so thankful that Philip woke up in the middle of the night to drive us to and from the Aircoach station both when we arrived and departed, making travel so much easier on us. Overall, they were fantastic hosts!
The apartment was exactly as described. Venetia was very helpful both before and during our stay, and made us feel very welcome. Her instructions on everything were clear and thoughtful and detailed, such as the best travel route. The location was great for exploring South Dublin and Wicklow. In fact we travelled to Powerscourt in Enniskerry, County Wicklow, in under 30 mins, which was so beautiful, even in winter. If anyone else is interested, take the first Greystones exit off the N11 and follow the signs for Enniskerry and Powerscourt. In Enniskerry Village turn left then right. The apartment had everything we needed. Venetia so thoughtfully provided food for breakfast. She had thought of everything, even iPad/iPhone chargers. I loved all the colourful pictures everywhere., and there was access to a private garden with a Gazebo which we could access through patio doors which looked so inviting, although it was to cold and wintry to use it. Thanks for a lovely stay to Venetia and Philip
I would highly recommend Venetia's apartment. The apartment was in perfect location. Just off motorway . You are in minutes to city centre than
Powercourt gardens, Dalkey 8-10 min away .
My husband and I went for a nice walk to in the morning and had coffee Killiney shopping centre . Supervalu , coffee shops.. All you need in 10 min walk.
Apartment was very quite, clean and comfortable . .
Venetia and her husband easy going, very welcoming to us.
I think Venetia well deserved her super host tag.
The description is very accurate ...the apartment is very cosy and secluded.... It is up a beautiful tree lined laneway and has direct access to Killiney village and park via a public right of way across the golf course. Venetia is very helpful and mindful to make you feel very private. All in all a great experience. The groceries were definitely an added bonus.
We had a very warm welcome from Venetia and her husband. Venetia had left some basic foods like milk, eggs, bread, butter and orange juice in the fridge which was very much appreciated. The flat was very nicely furnished, though the bedroom is very small. The kitchen, dining and lounge area were lovely and there are French doors leading to a small garden area, which was lovely. In contrast, the bathroom was large and equipped with a bath and shower attached, though the shower was not very strong.
The heating was controlled by the main house and was on only during certain hours of the day, which meant that when we got up a little later, the bathroom was quite chilly. The two oil heaters provided for extra heat could not be used to warm the bathroom. However, overall we enjoyed our stay .
Many thanks for your review - we have noted your points about the water pressure and heating in the bathroom and will take steps to fix both of these issues. We're glad you enjoyed your stay.
Staying at the cottage was pure pleasure. This was indeed a cozy hideaway, quiet & set in a charming established neighborhood. Venetia & Phillip were wonderful hosts. Each went well beyond what would be expected. Their kindness & generosity made our stay great fun. Their knowledge of Ireland & their willingness to help us feel like family was amazing and so much appreciated! Can't wait to go back!
We enjoyed the stay, the house was very clean and tidy, Venetia we did also find some basic groceries. The owners were very helpful with us for any question or case. Venetia and Philip are two really wonderful people, it was a pleasure to know them. Highly recommended although a bit 'far from Dublin (50 minutes by bus, 30 with the Dart).
Killiney is very nice and quiet. To spend a week discovering Ireland is ideal!
