This is an amazing cabin and a must for anyone looking for a getaway from the city to let the stress melt away. Virgil was a fantastic host and showed us the ins and outs of the cabin and also the short walk to the beach. Virgil made sure the cabin was stocked with water, milk, butter, and even coffee which he roasted himself! He even provided a food processor when we asked for one so we could make pesto for dinner. The cabin is totally as described and very comfortable. The shower is outside, but was private enough so one didn't feel exposed at all. We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back again.
We had the best time staying at Virgil's Cabin! The best! Virgil was kind and helpful in giving us tips on the area. He showed us the way to get down to the beach and pointed out parts of the nearby park we might want to check out.
The cabin was clean and had every amenity we could ask for- including an amazing outdoor shower that had hot water right away. We could see the ocean from the window. It was a slice of heaven.
I would love to come back here and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone
our stay at Virgil's wood cabin in Carmel by-the-sea has been just perfect : lovely host, lovely peacefull atmosphere of the location, the cabin mixes authenticity but still has all comfort needed.
We just loved everything and especially the view from inside and ouside the cabin and the little lane leading to a nice beach.
Beautiful spot in Carmel, about 20 miles from Big Sur. Perfect for couples or traveling alone. The owner Virgil was awesome and really helpful. Amazing private little shack with a cool outdoor shower. We watched whales from our bed! Private foot path to a private beach. Definitely go here!
Beautiful setting.Exactly as described. You can walk from your door to an amazing nature reserve. Virgil was very welcoming and gave us some helpful tips on where to go after our long drive. The cabin has everything you will need.Interesting books. We loved staying here and had a great time.
Really a fabulous place. Beautiful, cozy, great trail to the ocean. Wish we could have stayed longer.
This was a gorgeous place. The weather, hosts, hiking, and cabin were beyond out expectations. The chickens were even friendly. We cannot wait to return in the near future. Such a hidden gem!
This is hands down the most incredible airbnb I have stayed in. Virgil's space is the perfect definition of the word "cabin".
Virgil was a wonderful host. He took the time to show us the beach early in the day and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable.
Virgil was such a nice guy! He was very welcoming upon our arrival. He took time to show us around the cabin and even showed a path near the cabin which leads down to the beach. The descriptions and pictures for the cabin are pretty spot on. What we got was what I was expecting. There were even fresh flowers on the bed side tables! Some reviews seemed apprehensive about the outdoor shower but we loved it. It was a unique touch that really made you feel closer to the outdoors. We never felt like someone might be peering in. The cabin is just minutes away from the top of Big Sur and the heart of Carmel. The only issue we had was finding the cabin since the numbers on the mailboxes do not match the physical address and you can't see the cabin from the street. My GPS took me to the correct spot but since you can't see the cabin from the street I didn't want to waltz onto someone else's property. But as soon as I let Virgil know I wasn't sure which place was correct, he called me up and gave great descriptions of the location. Overall, we had a lovely time and would definitely stay here again if we were to come to the area.
