My husband and I love to travel! We have lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for 30 years. We own and operated Old Hawaii Realty. Our home is located in beautiful Holualoa overlooking the Pacific Ocean on 5 acres of pastureland and tropical foliage.

Best place we stayed in our tour around the islands. Great location, great house, with pool table and hot tub for guest use. Our hosts were also very helpful and very nice. I would definitely recommend staying here.
My four friends and I stayed at Angela and Jim's house following a week of camping on the Big Island. We loved everything about the space - the 3 bedrooms with comfortable mattresses and linens, 2 bathrooms including one with an outdoor shower, a hot tub, an outdoor kitchen, a laundry room ($2/load all inclusive), and an unbeatable view of the coastline. There were also a pool table and tv that we didn't use. The attention to detail was fantastic, from the toiletries in each bathroom to travel books about Hawaii to a small appliances in the kitchen. We respected their privacy (especially given that there is no door between upstairs and the downstairs floor where we stayed), and Angela and Jim respected ours. We saw Angela about once a day when she brought down fresh fruit for us in the morning. I would stay with them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone who doesn't mind a short drive out of town.
Angela's house is in a beautiful location above Kona, with an awesome view. We had the entire downstairs to ourselves, which was fully equipped with hot tub, laundry room, a pool table and tv. It was a great place to stay, even though our visit was brief. I would highly recommend this to families or couples visiting the Kona area.
Given reviews by others, I think my experience must have been unusual. When I arrived in the area (traveling by myself), I could not get anyone to return my phone calls. I think the owners were out of town and had someone else managing the unit. I got lost but eventually found the place, but there was no one there. There were no signs anywhere that anyone knew I was coming. I eventually walked downstairs and found an open screen door. After some calling out loud, I let myself in. Once in, I knew I was in the right place but I saw no signs of what room I was supposed to use or any sign of anyone. After wandering around the downstairs and trying to call the owners repeatedly, I saw a note from the person managing the unit to other people who had stayed there. I emailed this person (who was never a contact). The whole thing was totally disconcerting and nearly turned me off airbnb for good. It may not sound like a big deal but it felt like breaking into this big house with no signs that anyone knew I was coming. At 10:30 that night just as I was considering staying somewhere else, the manager called to clarify the miscommunication. I stayed over and left early. It's a nice place, but the communication on this particular stay was awful.
Modest room with a fantastic view. Very peaceful with hot tub and open air kitchen and shower. Very affordable. Close to Kailua-Kona. We would stay here again.
Jim and Angela are very welcoming hosts. Their house is beautiful with a gorgeous view and all the amenities you may possibly enjoy. I liked the outdoor shower and the pool table most of all. The house is positioned on a beautiful winding mountain road, off the beaten tourist path so it's very private yet within a short drive to all attractions and sights. I wholeheartedly recommend this place/people to all of you fellow B&B'ers. You will enjoy it as much as we did.
I had a great time staying at Angela and Jim's house. It is beautifully located over the Kona coast with a stunning view and a huge garden. The patio has a nice outdoor kitchen with a BBQ, a great outdoor shower (but there is one indoors as well) and a hottub. Angela and Jim were amazingly friendly and hospitable, had a lot of interesting stories to tell and made me instantly feel at home. I would absolutely stay there again.
We had such a lovely week at Jim and Angela's! Beautifully situated overlooking the Kona coast, and very quiet with no traffic noise. The hosts were exceedingly accomodating and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Just a few examples are: provision of beach toys/boogie boards, giving our kids a ride on the horses, use of outdoor hot tub, lots of advice on local sights, use of guide books and maps, fresh fruit, and use of the pool table. The set up is that the guests live downstairs, where there is also the pool table room, and the hosts live upstairs. We didn't have any problems with privacy. Kitchen facilities were basic but there was a BBQ and an oven/toaster/grill unit. The laundry tub doubled as our washing up sink.
Angela and Jim were exceptional hosts! The house was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for after spending four nights in a resort. The view of the ocean was spectacular, the hot tub relaxing, and we were able to grill at night and enjoy the peace and quiet.
lovely views & wonderfully hospitable - we look forward to returning.
Angela was very nice and easy to communicate with. My apartment manager said she and her husband were extremely nice and friendly. The flat was left in perfect condition. I definitely recommend Angela to any host in the world. Thank you!
