Hello, I'm a SoCal native and my family moved to Seattle when I joined Microsoft in 1999. We thought we'd never leave SoCal, but we love living in Seattle. It's a lot like LA and Orange County used to be in the 70's and 80's. I am married and have three kids --- two older boys 17 and 15 and a younger daughter who is 12. I'm a Cal Poly Pomona grad --- I saw you are a UCLA grad. My father is a UCLA grad.
For a business perspective I am an intrapreneur. I help companies engage and work with other companies. I currently work for Kodak and I'm a global alliance manager working with companies like Microsoft, SAP, (website hidden), (website hidden) and other technology platforms. Part of my job is helping Kodak and other companies engage and use Social Media to drive their businesses. So, if you search for me online you will find a lot of tweets, (website hidden) and (website hidden) postings. You will also see a lot of blog posts where I talk about partnering, ECM, Cloud Computing, Social Media and my dog Ellie.
Sadly, I won't get to spend a lot of time in the city on this trip, but I have been to NY dozens of times over the past 20 years and my brother lived on the upper East side for 10 years while he worked for DLJ and DB in the Financial District. I'm hoping your place might become a regular place to stay and work from. Obviously, you get to make that determination. I look forward to meeting you and saying hello in person. I'll be curious to hear how you like NYC as compared to LA. I think a lot depends upon WHERE in LA you are from.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me directly. My mobile is always on.
