Hello friends and fellow Airbnb travelers. I am writing my first review which also happens to be my very first Airbnb experience. As a first-timer I was warmly welcomed by Mr. Gerado Del Toro, a caring, kind and thoughtful host who stepped above his duty. The exchange was friendly and so natural that upon initial arrival the family felt a sense of belonging.
It was the beginning of a wonderful and perfect family experience filled with new memories that will be forever lasting and a wish come true, a Christmas gift given by the Del Toro family opening up their home providing the best family setting, with all the amenities (this home has everything you need and more for a great stay), in a spacious living environment that invites family unity with its open floor plans, each room with its own personal touch, displaying warmth and family values.
The Del Toro home was absolutely the perfect place for us to spend our Christmas week. It was a family gathering that brought us all together from multiple places across the globe. We chose the Midwest as our gathering location as we had other family members living in the area and it is the origin of were all our lives began in unity as a family.
The added bonus to this wonderful home is its location in the Naperville Historic District. This neighborhood is home to 280 houses that include an array of architectural styles including solid four-squares, tidy Cape Cods, and stately Victorians. This home is a charming Gable Front Cottage which has been kept to original historic features, built in 1895 with some alterations including a one story addition in the 1920s.
Looking for a safe, friendly and engaging community? This is the place... no need to look further. A stroll through the City of Naperville Historic District is a stroll into a simpler time. When life was less hurried. When homes carried family names, values and preserved heritage. Backyards, shaded by stately trees, were the playgrounds of children’s imagination filled with laughter.
No need to worry about driving from this location. In fact, in our short stay it was evident the preferred method of getting around by neighbors is a lot of walking which is convenient and safe. Walking to school, the library, to church is all very accessible and in close proximity. We even took a family walk downtown to dine where we enjoyed Chicago style pizza night at Lou Malnati's. On our way back we took a stroll on the Riverwalk for ice-cream and a bit of window shopping.
I highly recommend reaching out to Gerado if your looking for a great community experience, living in a home that has a bit of its own life to slowing you down, stopping to think deeper about our purpose, our values, socializing, caring for one another, appreciating what has been given to us as precious gifts.
A TRULY MEMORABLE AND RENEWED APPRECIATION IN THE GIFT OF GIVING. -B.DONOHUE
I like Gerardo and his family. His communication was friendly and I love his adventurous spirit. I look forward to having his family back again as guests any time. They left the house very clean!
It was delightful to have Gerardo and his family to stay, they were more than respectful guests. In fact, we left them in charge of our house and cat for a week and when we returned it was much tidier than we had left it! It was a pleasure to meet them and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Gerardo's visit was so brief that I never had a chance to meet him. I would have love to meet someone with such a fun sounding name though. A great guest who left the room spotless. We are pleAsed to recommend hosting GerArdo Del Toro.
