Lyle and Lynne were incredibly helpful. The listing was completely accurate and we felt right at home. Even though they were both absent at the time of our visit, they were incredibly quick to respond to all our questions via email. The appartment was well set up with all the required accomodations. (The TV even has the CBC from Toronto, so if you're a leafs fan, you can get the games. We're not, but we won't hold it against them that we couldn't watch the habs game. We had better things to do in Barbados anyway.) Everybody that Lyle and Lynne recommended was trustworthy and helpful. We would go back in a heartbeat (and probably will). We did use the washer/dryer, gas stove, internet, and A/C. We had little or no use for the dishwasher, microwave and small electric grill, TV, dvd player, radio, etc, but they are there should you need them. More description, from experience: The guesthouse is a 5 minute walk away from Mullins beach. The neighborhood is very quiet, both during the day and at night with friendly, neighbors. We had some chats and everyone was happy and enjoyable. You can easily walk to Mullins with the essentials for beach/swimming, walk back for lunch/shower, then catch a bus to visit elsewhere on the island or any other combination of activities. Holetown (touristy with more upscale restaurants, Louis Vuitton shops, etc) is about a 15-20 minute bus ride away. Speighstown (more local feel, relatively few tourists) is a 20 minute walk away (5 minutes by bus). There's a gas station on the corner of highway 1 and Mullins Terrace that has essentials if you need them. It's more expensive, but convenient. There's a supermarket in Speighstown (Jordan's) and one in Holetown (Massy). Holetown has a better selection, but is a little further away. Eating options near the guesthouse are relatively few. From most to least expensive, we tried Mullins beach bar, Bomba's, Chinese restaurant, No1 bar and grill, Morgan's Hindz bar (for lunch). By far our favourite was Morgan's lunches (unfortunately no food on Sundays, possibly not saturday's either). It's a small, typical, local place. Everyone was very friendly and helpful there as well. If you like diving, I found a good shop called Reefers and Wreckers (in Speighstowm) who will do everything to accomodate you. There are others nearby, I think high tide watersports and west side scuba. We got used to the no 1 bar and grill for evening drinks. The staff was very friendly. (I should probably stop saying that now. Pretty much everybody on the island was friendly and helpful.) Overall, I wouldn't go there if you want to be in a bustling city with lots of noise and people running around. If you want a relaxing vacation in Barbados, easy access to public transport to visit the island, easy ways to mix with the people who actually live in Barbados and not be overrun by tourists, I'd say this is an awesome...
We loved Lynly Manor and would stay there again. It is a few blocks from the beach. Our unit was clean and comfortable, exactly as the pictures looked. We were especially grateful that the AC in the bedroom worked so well.
When we got there was a bit of a mix up with the keys and the apartment manager quickly did whatever it took to fix the issue. Lynne and Lyle were not there when we were but were also extremely responsive and gave some great recommendations. I even spoke to a neighbor who said he is having a friend stay there next week. You can book this place without hesitation.
Lyle and Lynne were both so accommodating and really made our stay easy! Lyle even took us on a short tour of the area and we had great conversations! Lynne was really kind and helped us book the cab rides! Amazing!
Lyle and Lynne are wonderful people, s(phone number hidden)friendly and helpful. We really had the feeling that we could ask everything.
The apartment has any-any-anything you need, or even think of... linnen, sheets, beachtowels, too.
It was so good that we could wash our clothes and the beachtowels...
The beach has a beachbar with a lot of people and watersport, but on the other side its quiet and peaceful with natural shadow. The corallreef is nearby so you can snorkle next to the beach.
The gasstation 100m from the beach has everything you need for breakfast, drinking and more, and a money-cash-automat, too.
The next supermarket is in Speightstown ca 1,5km, and has a free shuttle-service back home.
We are happy to have our guests happy. It makes us feel good to know our guests like our apartment.
This is the place to stay in barbados. We used airbnb for the first time but if all the rest is like this i will never book a hotel again. Lyle and Lynne are truely wonderfull people, the showed us around where to go and waited for us at the supermarket when we were shopping. The house really got everything you need, fast wifi a bbq and most of all it's clean. It's also on walking distance from a nice beach. Next time we are in barbados we come again. Thank you again from Claudia, Daniele and Erol
