This small cluster of bungalows, with comfy seating surrounding an outdoor pool, sits up a small hill one big block from the classic Manzanillo beaches that stretch for miles. As we had rented a car for the 4-hr drive from Puerto Vallarta, finding the Bungalows was ‘relatively easy’, and travelling by bus there and getting around on local buses could definitely work, for the flexible traveller!
Carlos and his staff were Very accommodating & reliable, our one bdrm Very spacious & livable (although there were fixable problems with the bathroom sink & a lack of basic eating utensils). Overall, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or to recommend to others whose basic requirements are “affordable, clean, and convenient”.
Travel-Wise: Even as young 60-somethings, we found this to be a very safe sleepy small beach town, the perfect ‘down-time week’ before spending a much more Swinging 2nd week in P.Vallarta! However, a fun area to have great day trips (all within an hour), north to Melaque & Barra de Navidad on Hwy 200 and east to Colima and then to Comala and the active “Volcan de Colima,” (which burst while we approached it!). Additionally, there’s no end of public beaches accessible within Manzanillo where great food and drinks are available all day till 6pm. For evening dinners & drinks, the main choices are on the (non-beachfront) main boulevard that runs thru the town. Highly recommend “Margarita’s”, short walk from Bungalows Alcaraz for sunset drinks and/or early dinner! Café Bean just down the road for all-day breakfast & sandwiches, and Juanitas next door to Cafe Bean are two very close dynamite resto finds! (We can only hope they all stay ‘Open’!)
Overall ... Assuming no partying guests are present, Alcaraz bungalows are the perfect Peaceful escape with few neighbourhood sounds and a subtle evening hint of waves breaking on beaches below. Perfecto! Thanks Carlos & Staff!

Súper un lugar excelente para descansar y muy céntrico, quizá solo falta tv de cable para la noche y que el internet tenga un poco mas de potencia por lo demás super!!!!
Great location. - Like advertised, a block and a half away from the beach. There is an Oxxo (like a 7-11) a block away for most of your needs and easy walking distance to Sam's Pizza. It's only a 10 minute walk to the main area of Santiago for shopping, markets, restaurants etc.
Didn't meet Carlos until our 3rd to last day as he was on vacation, but still managed to check in without issue. The place was big and clean. Had an issue with the hot water tank, cleaning, and a few other things but Carlos fixed and replaced everything ASAP and all was well. We all thought it was awesome and very authentic, and a nice change from staying in an All Inclusive - where you really don't get a real cultural experience. This was Genuine.
Carlos and his staff are very friendly and welcoming - Even a case of cold beer in the fridge upon arrival.
There are 2 single beds in one room, a double and a single in the other. The beds are in a fixed position, and you're unable to re-arrange them. Just something to keep in mind if you're going as a couple or just a bunch of friends.
The main picture of the sunset Carlos advertises is 100% TRUE - it's the view off the balcony from our room.
Would stay again. - Thank you.
This was our first Airbnb experience and our first trip to Mexico, so we weren't sure what to expect. It was a good space as far as size and layout. The apartment included a cute kitchen, stove, dishes, dining area with chairs, good size bedroom with closet, and bathroom with shower. The state and cleanliness of the apartment left much to be desired, however. The bed was very uncomfortable and I had to buy a foam pad from the store in order to sleep at all. There is no a/c, so leaving the windows open at night let mosquitoes in. The pool area was wonderful though. Very clean and a great chairs for lounging in the evening. The trip was great overall, the people were all extremely helpful and friendly. The price for the space can't be beat, but you get what you pay for.
Las respuestas de Carlos siempre rápidas y claras. La recepción en casa fue buena, todo muy limpio y agradable.
El servicio de las personas en el condominio muy eficiente.
We had a great stay. It's close the the beach, even if the beach was a little hard to access, and the beach is lovely and quite clean with good waves. We had lots of fun playing in the water and digging in the sand. The house was as advertised and very quiet. Our family of five fit very comfortably and it was nice to have so much space.
Bien ubicado y un buen precio para grupos grandes.
Carlos is very welcoming, and his staff works really hard to keep the place safe and clean. Best place to stay in Manzanillo, close to the beach, what else?
We were greeted by the property manager who was extremely helpful, kind, and she cleaned our room one day & also did a load of laundry for us! She spoke very little english and us a small bit of spanish, which was fun but all worked out easily. The small apartment room was very basic but had most everything we needed. View from the property is fantastic and pool is lovely & very welcomed after a long day adventuring around Manzanillo. We ended up staying a day longer to enjoy the beaches, view from our place with the sunset & pool! Amazing deal for cheap accommodation & very generous space :)
