My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Joseph's wonderfully located, clean and accurately described apartment. Would certainly recommend. Joseph made us feel very at home (providing two sets of keys, some oranges and other bits and bobs) which made all the difference. We ended up feeling so at home we didn't want to leave. Would stay here again on our next visit!
Joseph met with me in the flat, as planned, and showed me how everything worked and gave me lots of tips about the area. He is a very easygoing and nice person - the perfect host!
The flat was just as described, nice and clean. I would definitely recommend staying with Joseph.
Joseph is super sweet, the beds are comfy and the location is wonderful - the place is clean as well. I unfortunately wouldn't book again only because there is no stand up shower, the tub unfortunately was a bit more inconvenient than anticipated. For a one time experience it was fine though.
Joseph's place was great! The neighborhood is perfect for getting around. Everything was clean and as described. And Joseph was a great host. Only things to make sure you are aware of/good with: 1) no shower - just a small tub in the kitchen, 2) 5 flights of stairs. Otherwise, it's great!
Very accurate description; great neighborhood and location. Host is amazing artist; would recommend.
Très bon séjour à NY. L'appartement est très agréable et bien placé. Les photos donnent un bon rendu de l'appartement. Joseph a été disponible et de bons conseils.
Joseph was wonderfully available and helpful prior to my arrival in New York City and during my stay at his apartment. His place is in the heart of Nolita, a hop away from Soho, near a million cute shops, cafe's and restaurants. The cost/benefit was excellent! The main drawback, as his listing makes clear, is that it is on the 5th floor sans elevator.
Josephs apartment couldn't have been in a better location! He was flexible with our check in time and made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back.
We spended 8 lovely nights in Joseph's apartment. It was awesome, nothing to complain about. Just as described. The roof terrace gives a nice view, great to sit on in late (summer) nights. The apartment is very quite because it is situated in the back of the building and top floor. At midnight you almost can't hear a sound, in the morning you'll wake up with the birds. The apartment really is Art-style with lots of homemade glass mozaïek on the wall and a big workdesk for the artist (which you may not touch of course). Still there is enough space to feel comfortable. We really felt like we were one of the villagers.
East Village is lovely. Not as busy and crowdy as the upper Manhattan places. Very more laidback than that! We loved it! You'll find restaurants, bars, supermarkets around your corner. And the green and quite Tomkins Square Park at the end of the street.
Although it is a bit more in the lower Manhattan you can reach enough cultural places and buildings by foot. We walked almost every day. But you'll find a subway (1st Av) in about 10-15 min walk.
Joseph really was a perfect host. We never met him in personal but after two messages it felt like we knew eachother for years. He had arranged everything very well for our arrival. He Always responded my questions quick and correct. He gave great tips for culture, sports and eating. My contact with Joseph made our trip more comfortable, prepared and secure.
Try Veselka in the 9th street (7 min). It is an Ukraïn restaurant and it serves lots of dishes and great breakfast (Joseph's tip :-). If we go back to NY (and we will once) we surely will go back to Joseph's place. Highly recommended. Thank you Joseph!
Joseph is a very gracious and kind host and was there to greet me and gave me a tour of his astounding apartment and his amazing artwork. He is such a talented and inspiring person. The apartment is super clean and well kept. His patio is like an urban paradise. The area is so vibrant with the park nearby and St. Marks only a 10 mins walk. I ended walking every where and was surprised that from Soho or Union Square back to his place was an easy scenic 30 mins walk. I absolutely love this place and the area.
Very nice. Great communication. Highly recommend!
Joseph was a very respectful guest. We did not get to spend a lot of time together, but he communicated well and was very kind when I did get to speak to him!
Joseph was a wonderful guest. I enjoyed having him and would host him again anytime.
Always a pleasure hosting like-minded creatives especially when they appreciate the finer things and special spaces. Joseph and his partner were amazing, courteous guests and I hope our paths will cross in their home NYC very soon
Joe was a great guest, I only wish he could have stayed longer so I could introduce him to some of my glass art friends.....next time?
I have traveled on several trips with Joseph and have also stayed at his apartment located in the east village.
He is a great travel buddy. Considerate, organized, clean, and very easy going.
His apartment in the east village is a clean, sunny, quiet haven located in a neighborhood filled with interesting shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars.
A definite plus is the lovely roof deck for meals, drinks, or simply reading the morning blogs.
Best suited for one person, a wonderful place from which to explore the city.
I highly recommend.
