I enjoyed meeting Vincent and staying in his comfortably cozy one-bedroom apartment in Oak Park. His charming home is located across the street from the Ernest Hemingway Museum and one block from Hemingway’s childhood home, which is open to tourists. The subway station is only two blocks away, and for merely three dollars you can be in downtown Chicago in less than 30 minutes. Many urban ‘luxuries’ are found in this quaint neighborhood: Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Amour de la Terre. Moreover, Vincent's kind and efficient manner immediately put me at ease. He made it clear that should I need to reach him (I didn't), he was only a text or phone call away. Vincent’s apartment is perfect for anyone looking for a private, safe, and quiet home while visiting the Chicago area. Thank you, Vincent, for providing me with a worry-free get-away!
Vincent was a super host. We loved the apartment and the neighbourhood is beautiful. Lovely restaurants, we really liked Maya. Great location & public transport to downtown.
Spent seven days in Oak Park for the holiday's and loved staying here. Vincent was an excellent host and made us feel at home and went out of his way to help us when we thought the extra air mattress was leaking (in reality it was our fault for not closing the seal all the way).
Great location. Two blocks from the El Train, lots of restaurants and shopping near by. Great time was had by all.
He was great- met us at the appointed time, showed us everything in the unit, explained the television and the internet service.Told us to call him for any problem (we didn't need to but I know he would have been responsive) Found an item of clothing that was left behind and went out of his way to return it.
Vince was great throughout. This was my first time using airbnb and he couldn't have made it easier. Vince was even flexible about check in time and allowed me to get the keys much earlier than was required so I could get in early without having to kill time somewhere.
The reservation was canceled 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Vincent was a great tour guide of his place, showing us everything about the unit and explaining how things worked. He was patient with our questions and enthusiastic about our arrival--and was flexible about meeting us at a time convenient for our travel plans. When we had questions during our stay, he was quick to text/call back. This was a great experience.
We had a perfect stay at Vincent's place in Oak Park. Vincent is the best host you can ever expect. Before our arrival, he responded to all my travel questions even some of them are not even related to his apartment. His place is artsy and cozy. Perfect location in Oak Park.
I was very happy with this accommodation during my 4 night stay in June 2014. The accommodation is as presented and exceeded my expectations in terms of spaciousness, cleanliness, etc. The apartment also includes wifi and various online services. It was quiet at night, and overall provided a very nice respite after busy days touring the city.
The Oak Park neighbourhood is quite nice, and does include some fascinating architecturally significant buildings. The apartment is a very comfortable short walk from the "L station", so access to downtown via public transportation is very convenient. There are nearby grocers such as Trader Joes and visitors will find it easy to stock up on food supplies as an alternative to eating out.
The host was very helpful and available - he even helped me deal with a difficult taxi driver!
I would definitely stay here again.
We had the most wonderful stay at Vincent's apartment, we had numerous flight delays and Vincent was understanding and friendly. The apartment is located in a fantastic part of Chicago, located near transport (15mins to The Loop) and within walking distance to various pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The apartment was clean and tidy and had everything we could have possibly needed. We will be back and can highly recommend it. Especially if you want to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright area, as was our reason for staying.
Vincent and Ned were great guests. It was my first experience hosting a guest with a pet, but Ned (the dog) was exceptionally well-behaved. He rarely barked and I often forgot that he was even there.
Vincent was extremely quiet and thoughtful, but equally personable and engaging. We had some great conversations and sometimes I felt that he knew more about the Traverse region than I do (and I've lived here all of my life). When I mentioned that the power drive was broken on my mower, he insisted on mowing my lawn before he left. Wow - maybe I should pay him to come and visit me again. Needless to see - I would highly recommend Vincent and Ned as Airbnb guests!
Just a quick stay for Vincent...late night arrival and early morning departure. He was respectful, pleasant and even removed the sheets from the bed. A positive guest experience.
Vincent stayed with Bill at the ranch. He was a wonderful guest and even helped out around the place. He is so full of Life and information. Bill and I loved meeting him!
Victor was a great guest! He was tidy and picked up after his dog (Ned). Victor even mowed my lawn because he likes working in the yard. It was a very nice surprise!
