(I already wrote this once and my computer crashed ...)
I feel in LOVE with the photos of the Gingerbread house and thats why we decided to stay there. I honestly don't feel like the photos properly represent what the house looks like now.
When we first got there we went up stairs and noticed a stain on the comforter, we took it off right away. Then we closed some of the curtains for privacy and the curtain rod fell off the wall. I also wanted to snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and was sad to see how run down the blankets were ( I didn't want to use them) or sit on the couch or use the couch pillows. I just felt like they had been used one to many times.
We were on our honeymoon and I guess I thought maybe there would be a little something special for us. Just like the photos had flowers & fruit . I was thinking maybe we would have something nice waiting for us.
We did stay at another condo in Maui and maybe I am comparing to much. But you could really tell the pride of ownership at this other location. It was more than just a place to stay they really thought of everything we might need while on vacation. (for example sunscreen & aloe)
We really had a great time at the Gingerbread house, it was raining and it was really cool to listen to the rain hit the windows. It had everything we needed but just didn't WOW me like I thought it would. I would totally recommend this place for someone who needs a place to stay, but I wouldn't say it was the romantic retreat getaway I was expecting.
