After a lot of searching and experimenting, I'm enjoying my career as a creative director/new media producer for cleantech start-ups and non-profits.
Prior to this I was a biotech lab rat. Broke out of the cage and moved to Tahoe to connect with the mountains and teach children the joy of snowboarding. When I the mountain culture melted away, I went to study architecture and ecology in the Sonoran desert and returned to the Bay Area to dabble in bodywork only to find it to be a poor fit, so I hopped on (website hidden) wagon and became a web producer . After my disillusionment with the .-bomb audacity of waste, I dropped out and traveled to international ecovillages and have since returned home to implement solutions to move us towards connection, efficiency, and boo-ya! good times. The 15-year migration path summarizes it fairly well I think: Saratoga -> Davis -> Tahoe -> Arizona -> San Francisco -> Australia/NZ -> Oakland -> Brooklyn
Friends and I started a retrofit cohousing community in Oakland and have been renovating our 100 yr old houses together. I have since relocated to Brooklyn for the summer of 2013 and look forward to exploring the Northeast.
I play the clawhammer banjo and guitar, and I like to make music and theatre. I'm a craftsy kind of fellow with pots, glassware, furniture, stained glass and felted gifts.
Life is always changing and I'm constantly adjusting to what home means to me. Along the way, music, art and family have nurtured me.
