Pedro is a great host and a very nice, friendly and also funny person. I felt very welcome in his house where he lives with his sister and his cousin. There is always time for a talk and Pedro gives you a lot of information about the surroundings and about Lima.
The room is spacious and comfortable and has a wardrobe where you can guard your clothes. There's also cable TV and wifi connection.
Pedro's house is located only two blocks away from Avenida Benavides where you can find lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. And the connection from here to nearly anywhere in Lima is good too as you can get a taxi/bus from Avenida Benavides easily.
Feeling welcome. Taking care, for instance with taxi from airport and giving me desinfectant when I had a wound. Pointing me to nice shops, products to try. Very relaxed family and neighborhood.
Pedro was a great host- familiar with the Lima art scene/able to help set up taxi rides/answer questions about supermarkets, post office, etc. Although the room looks out on a small walkway, the noise is minimal and it's a comfortable space (though the bathroom is a bit cramped). The location is about a 10 minute walk from the Cabitos Metro station (Line 1) and just a couple blocks from Avenida Benavides, a major street where it's easy to catch a combi/taxi. The neighborhood is safe and within a few minutes walk there is a Amazon-themed restaurant, many Chifas, and an awesome bakery.
I had a really great stay in Pedros house in Lima. Pedro was a really nice, friendly and helpful host. I felt very safe at his place and the surroundings. You can find all kinds of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, laundry service and a huge diversity of shops close to his place and there is a bus stop in only 2min. walking distance where you can find buses which will bring you to almost every place in Lima. It was my 8th travel to Peru and I so far stayed in a lot of different places whenever I came to Lima. I can warmly recommend Pedros place and himself as a host. And I'm pretty sure it was not the last time that I atayed at his house.
Pedro is an excellent host! Funny, accessible and informative - whether you are new to Lima or a regular visitor (as I am), he's a terrific host to stay with. (The last time I stayed in Lima for a conference, I ended up getting food poisoning at 5A, and Pedro was up and ready to shuttle me to the hospital!) More to the point: The room is impeccably neat and serenely designed. He always leaves a clean fluffy towel, and is always ready to invite you to a hot coffee or tea. There's also cable TV, wifi throughout the house. It's one of my absolute favorite places to stay at when in Lima. It's also walking distance from the "train electrico" public transportation line (that can connect you to the Museo de la Nacion, Biblioteca Nacional, and San Borja towards the north end), just a block from the main road connecting Surco and Miraflores (Av. Benavides), and a whole host of combis/micro buses also pass through Benavides -- whether you are aiming to get to Universidad La Catolica or San Marco, La Marina, or Larco Mar and Miraflores. Can't sing Pedro's praises enough ;]
The house and the room was gorgeous! Pedro and his sisters were always available to chat or to ask questions about the city. In particular, Pedro was a fountain of information and a lot of fun.
The area the house is located in is pretty residential, and about 1 block away from Av Benavides, so there were plenty of shops, bakeries and restaurants around while being shielded from the noise of the main street.
Definitely recommend Pedro's place!
Pedro was the best host! And his place was impeccably styled! An ample room with high ceilings, plenty of natural light, cable tv, and cozy down blanket. You couldn't ask for a nicer room. And conveniently located, at just a few block from the Tren Electrico elevated train/public transportation line. And only a block away from the Benavides Avenue, one of the main roads stretching between Surco and Miraflores. Two strong strong thumbs up! 5 estrellas!!
I've known Pedro for years. He is a great host and really well connected in Lima. If you want to know where to go, who to meet, and how to get there, he is the right person to ask. The room he is offering is an excellent place to stay. It is in my grandmother's house, which is a beautiful, big house in one of Lima's traditional districts. It is only a few minutes away from Miraflores, Barranco and all the other touristic areas in Lima.
