We loved staying at Villa Latina ECO House. The house is right across from the beach which makes for easy access. It is situated toward the southern end of the main strip of hotels with beautiful beaches and close the the Biosphere reserve which we loved visiting. The hosts were extremely accommodating and responded quickly to all of our questions. They met us when we arrived to let us in and show us around and were very helpful. The house also had everything we needed including a cooler, towels, etc. The house is not large but even with four people it was quite comfortable, the walls between the two bedrooms was thin but that was our only complaint--and not a big deal. We enjoyed making breakfast every morning and eating on the roofdeck which was also a great place to star gaze. The house felt very safe and secure.
We have been to Tulum many times. My wife and two daughters enjoyed the space that Wioletta and Cezary provided very much.
The upstairs kitchen/common room allowed us to hang out in a quiet and private setting and make our own breakfast and coffee in the morning. There is a nice upper deck which we also enjoyed. The beds are good and flat and not sagged out.
It is only a few steps from the beach where there is a little beach club run by friendly folks who will provide drinks and food.
My wife got a massage at the little stall there and she said it was first rate.
I would recommend Villa Latina for a relaxing time. Wioletta and her daughter are very friendly and accommodating.
Tim, Thank you for everything! You are welcome at any time :)
We had a lovely stay at Villa Latina. Wioletta was very responsive and easy to communicate with via email. She and her daughter met us on arrival and showed us around. The house was very clean and comfortable and stocked with drinking water, mangoes, limes, eggs and tortillas! There is a lovely roof deck with chairs and hammocks for lounging and an outdoor shower. We were two couples and two toddlers. The bedrooms are small, but big enough to fit a pack'n'play in the corner. For the most part the fan and the open window kept us cool enough at night. The house was not the most toddler friendly, it has a metal spiral staircase connecting the first and second floors, but we kept a close eye on the girls and it was fine.
The beach is right across the street, access via the Aurora beach club. They were very relaxed and we used their chairs and umbrellas frequently. The house is towards the end of the restaurant/hotel strip, but there are plenty of places within a close walk.
Overall a great stay, we would definitely come back to Tulum!
Our delightful stay in Wioletta's charming and comfortable home made our vacation perfect. The location is ideal, and the description of the home as 'rustic chic' is perfect. I especially loved the comfortable, quiet and dark bedroom. We enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the stars on the rooftop deck every day. Wioletta's daughter Paulina was so friendly and helpful I ensuring our comfort and making arrangements for our transfer back to the airport. I cannot recommend this accomodation any higher and look forward to returning again. A great value as well.
Wioletta, her husband and daughter were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. The home is set back from the street in the jungle and very quiet and peaceful. We highly enjoyed our experience!
We spent 7 days in Tulum in the Villa Latina. Wioletta and Cezary met us upon checking in and showed us around. It is such a charming little house and we fell in love with it. Every morning my husband would make coffee and breakfast and we'd eat on the roof. I also practiced yoga on the roof and it was the most amazing experience to be surrounded by the jungle while in down dog. It was in a fantastic location, right across the street from the Aura Beach Club - where we spent every morning.
There are a few things about Tulum in general that took getting used to - like not flushing toilet paper, solar power and the bugs! Wioletta was very upfront about all these on her Airbnb page. There is also a list of the house rules in the living room and she told us in person when we arrived - qualities of a great host.
Everything we needed was either a bike ride or a walk away. Location was really important to us because we were attending a wedding at the Be Tulum and wanted to make sure we were close enough to walk there. Wioletta was very responsive and helpful in this regard when we looking into booking initially. The house was stocked with a few essentials that were great having around - extra sunscreen, aloe vera and beer. We loved staying here. So much so that my husband is planning on staying for a month next time!
Thanks for hosting us in your lovely house in Tulum! It was like everything we expected and more! The house was clean and comfortable, the location across from the beach club simply perfect, the view from the rooftop like a dream, the kitchen had all we needed, and the living room was the best place to relax: I can't imagine a better place to stay in Tulum and I hope I will be able to come back to visit!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Latina. The villa was clean, quite, spacious, across the street from the beach and close enough to walk or bike to most places we wanted to go for lunch/dinner/lounging. Kitchen was equipped with all the basic cookware and salt, pepper, olive oil, etc. The roof deck was fantastic but unfortunately after dusk too mosquito-y to enjoy (this is how it is everywhere on the jungle side of the road though). We did have breakfast and coffee up there most mornings. Internet worked great. Wioletta was very welcoming, sweet and clearly wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We only ran out of electricity once after the one cloudy rainy day we had. Clean the kitchen VERY well after making food as to not attract the little ants that visited us one morning.
Pack light - all you'll end up wearing is a bathing suit, a cover up (maybe) and rotate the same few lightweight dresses at night, sandals. Girls - the humidity is insane so go with the beach hair look. In NYC I have straight hair in Tulum I looked like Curly Sue. Mascara is the only makeup that won't melt off your face at night and all that's needed after your get a nice bronze glow :-)
We picked a different hotel on the beach each day to have lunch at in return for use of their day beds. Favorite beach spots were Casa Violetta, Coqui Coqui, Ana y Jose, and also the beach access right across the street from the villa. Restaurants: Casa Banana for dinner, Posada Margherita (beautiful atmosphere), La Zebra, Casa Violetta, Gitano Mezcal Bar. Heartwood was unfortunately closed when we were in Tulum. We had rented a car and day tripped to Coba ruins, some cenotes and into the town of Tulum as opposed to the beach road. Go into the town to buy any souvenirs - I came home with a beautiful leather purse that everyone at home keeps complimenting. Cost me $45 - in NYC it would have been a few hundred.
We had a great stay at Wioletta's Villa Latina in Tulum for 5 days. The house has a cute nautical theme and is right across the street from the beach.
Since I had to do some computer work while I was in Tulum I was worried about having internet access - Wioletta assured my concerns. Yes - Villa Latina has internet! The house is run on solar power so in order to make sure we had enough at night for my computer and the internet router, we mostly used candlelight in the evenings. There are candles all over the house for use. There was a big thunderstorm that knocked out the internet all through Tulum, but that happens to our internet at home when there is a big storm too.
We ended up going to Ziggy's Beach Club a short distance away every day to access the beach. They were very nice there and let us lounge around on their beach beds all day - we just ordered drinks, which we were thirsty for anyways!
It was nice to have access to a kitchen to make our own breakfast and snacks, including a ice chest style fridge. It was hot at night, but the bedrooms have overhead fans. our only really challenge was drying out our clothes and towels all the way because the weather was so humid.
We had a great stay and would recommend Villa Latina, especially if you want a more home-like environment where you can make your own food and don't need to eat out at restaurants for every meal.
Charming home just off the beach. Clean, spacious, comfortable. Very kind host too!
Gracias! Our house is always open for you! Next time we wish more sun for you :)
