Hope to make you comfortable without hovering and recommend Ithaca fun.
This listing exceeded expectations. Appearance was just as it looked in the pictures. It was very cozy, the host was pleasant and helpful, and she provided very good options for breakfast. It was an easy walk to the downtown area.
Linda was the consummate host. She went above and beyond to make my stay in her cozy home and town the highlight of my year. I felt totally welcome and safe in her company and space. She has her finger on the pulse of Ithaca, and is expert with a variety of experiences to offer her guests. My bed was clean and oh-so-comfy. The shower water was ample and hot! The location is convenient, in walking distance, but not hectic. I was lucky enough to enjoy some of her friends, family, and favorite hot spots. I felt like I belonged whether sharing great conversation or spending time in her space by myself. She is a truly talented, kind and compassionate person. I feel so lucky to have stayed with her on such a wonderful visit. THANK YOU doesn't begin to cover it!!
Linda was a fantastic host. Her place is super clean, quiet, and comfortable and I really liked our conversation. I will be back and would recommend her without reservation.
My two-week stay at Linda’s was truly wonderful! Her home is very cozy, clean and zen. I stayed at the green room which had an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was neat and had a very nice and large shower. I felt at home immediately and could use the entire house. On top of that, Linda was such a sweet and kind host who made my first Airbnb experience just perfect. I also got a discount for my extended stay.
Parking on the street was very easy and her home is just a short drive from Cornell and within walking distance of grocery stores and restaurants. I would certainly recommend this place to other Ithaca visitors!
I am already planning to come back next year and will hopefully be able to stay at Linda’s again!
The reservation was canceled 200 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Linda was an excellent host. She was generous with shared food for breakfast.
I took her canoe out for a paddle on the lake one morning and saw a bald eagle and dodged racing sculls (r)oaring past.
The house is comfortable and close to downtown.
She gave us a walking tour of EcoVillage Ithaca, the nearby Cohousing neighborhood.
I recommend this stay highly.
JACKPOT! So clean and zen. A sanctuary after traveling a far distance. Linda is the perfect host: tends to you when you really need it and gives you space when you really need it. A glass bottle of water and a clean, comfy bed await you in your room. Very close to Cornell. I loved being offered a hot cup of tea after a long, effortful day. And the water right outside her window was a great addition! Oh, and I must mention, the bathroom was Really clean!
Ithaca is such a nice place and Linda and her friends were very friendly with us, we had a great time!! I truly recommend to stay there!
Linda was very kind to pick me up at the station, introduce me to one of her friends (a very interesting and kind teacher) as well as cook a delicious dinner and even drive me to the other end of the city, so that I could be on time for my interview. This was my first airbnb experience in the US and I really a really appreciated how kind my host was. The house is cutely small and nicely decorated (very personal), so that one really feels at home. The bathroom was very clean and spacy, the bed room was a bit less clean but also very spacy and comfortable. The house is a bit off the center, so it is a long walk to college town - I enjoyed though. But I heard is right in the beginning of the road to a few waterfalls, which I will only be able to visit next time.
Thank you, Linda!
Linda was a terrific host and made my first experience with AirBnB smooth and easy. The room is exactly as described and her great communications kept me well informed (between Linda's own write up and everyone else's reviews, you know the room, host, and area long before you arrive). Linda is also ready to offer suggestions on what Ithaca has to offer, and her location is in a perfect spot to easily get around town. I would easily recommend staying here and will certainly consider Linda again the next time I'm in the area.
Linda is lovely and was an amazing guest. Hope all goes well for her daughter (that lives in the same building as my best friend!).
It was great to see returning guest Linda even for the brief moment. She is always welcome to stay with us.
Great guest. Interesting person. Brief stay. Always welcome. .
Linda was very communicative with her needs and treated my house as her own. She is welcome back any time.
Linda and Min stayed with us for a couple of days after Min's conference took place in Toronto. They were both very interesting to connect with and host.
Linda is an outgoing and informed woman. She knows how to make the best of being in Ithaca with all its activities. She knows how to make healthy comfort foods too. She has a cozy place and will make you feel at home.
Linda is a gracious and well-connected Ithacan. Her place is close to the action, but away from noise.
I am a traveling musician, and life on the road is often filled with nights in the van or in some sterile cookie cutter hotel room. So when I had an opportunity to stay at Linda Stout's charming and inviting home nestled in the hills of Ithaca, I jumped at the chance. Linda's home is everything a person needs to revitalize from the road, quiet and peaceful, a deck with a beautiful view, good coffee, and great vibe. Linda could not have been a more gracious and accommodating host. I would recommend staying with her to anyone!
Linda's house is at a great location from which to enjoy Ithaca. Walk in minutes to Cayuga Lake, some great downtown restaurants and coffeeshops, and shopping on the Commons. In spite of the prime location, the house is on a quiet side street, set a little off the road, which will give you a cozy place to stay with lots of room, peace and quiet.
"Comfortable without hovering" is a great phrase that Linda uses to describe her hosting style. She's a kind, thoughtful, chill spirit who has many friends of many different personality types and interests. She herself covers a lot of ground, from harvesting wild mushrooms to canoeing to music enthusiast, so no matter who you are or what you are interested in doing while in Ithaca, you can be sure that she will have good suggestions---all while still giving you plenty of space to enjoy your stay. Highly recommended.
I have known Linda for nearly ten years, and have visited her house, including an overnight visit, several times. She is very hospitable, easygoing, and a pleasure to spend time with. I would not hesitate to recommend her as a travel partner, or to recommend her place as a great place to stay!
Linda's place provides it all: a wonderful location, great energy, and a wealth of information on how to make the most of your stay in Ithaca (whether it's where to find the best bargains for shopping, or where to hear a great band, or find good eats).
Her place is in walking distance to the water, an organic supermarket, restaurants, bars, and shops, yet the house is nicely surrounded by trees and serenity to guarantee a good night's sleep free of any outside commotion.
Not only is there ample entertainment to be had outside of the house, but Linda herself provides lively conversation, and if you're lucky, you might even get a chance to taste some of her cooking or hear her sing and play guitar! Although if you would prefer to have a space where you can be in quiet and solitude, she would be more than happy to provide that as well...
Linda's is a place to rest, refresh, and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul!
