The hotel is located at the beach. You have a great view of sunrise. The room was clean and nice. The only thing you need to pay attention is the ferry timetable. If you miss the ferry at night and you have to wait one hour for next ride.
We arrived late in the evening and it was a nice surprise when we were told that we were upgraded to the ocean view room. While we were walking down the aisles, we were quite skeptical of how our experience will be as it looked quite run down. But the minute we open the door, it was like a new dimension all together. Room is well furnished with a refreshing feel. Bathroom was good. Bed was comfortable and one pillow is more than enough. We can see the sunrise right through our window in bed.. It was a really good experience and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Good variety for breakfast. Only down side would probably be that there is no lift and so we had to carry our heavy luggage 3 stories up.
Wie had a great time at Mui Wo. The beach resort is the perfect place to start all activities in Hong Kong and also have a quiet place to stay.
Our stay was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a surcharge for Internet and phone calls. The food at the restaurant at the hotel wasn't that great but you get two free hours of internet use when you buy something at the restaurant. We would definitely go back!
the Host was actually a Hotel at Lantau
The reception staff were friendly
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Reception staff were very unhelpful to our needs although we had a small child traveling and at times arrogant and rude. They appeared uninterested in some concerns I raised. My husband had a crtical incident in restaurant where he choked on fatty grizzle on food, I administered chest thrusts as medically trained. Not one member of staff showed any concern and when I asked for incident form or accident book apparently there is no need in Hong Kong as different health and safety laws. Advertised as child friendly but no adaption for children ie meals , rooms. We were on first floor where there was no lift or assistance offered with luggage. No gym, sauna and pool closed to children on one day as a rave type pool party was happening. So my little boy was kept awake until late.
Advertised as having 3 restaurants and a bar again untrue. No room at breakfast so had to eat in what looked like a store room.(which was meant to be a bar). This hotel should not be on Airbnb as it is not equipped for international travellers and health and safety concerns regarding young children.
The service and the room of this hotel was so horrible and we won't stay here again, ever. Weird tic tac noises came from doorway side. Scary enough we couldn't sleep until 1am. Couldn't stand anymore we called the reception and this male staff just saying it must be the toilet and asked us to close the toilet door. Told him we had already closed that door for the last 2 hours and ask him to send someone to check, he said THIS IS NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL SO ALL THE ROOMS ARE OLD AND HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.
This should be the best hotel in this area. But this staff was telling us this was the WORST. If we cannot sleep in the room why should we stay????
Here we condemn this staff and thanks him for telling us ALL rooms are not worthy for staying. Please be reminded, readers.
P.S. At last we figured out where the sounds coming from and luckily we could get some sleep.
This hotel is very well located near the pier. The rooms are cleans and the breakfast is very good. However, I think it's a scandal that the wifi isn't free for customers.
The staff were very nice, and we got an upgrade to the north wing. The room is very comfy and the location is not bad, just few minutes walk from the ferry station, you can also rent bikes from the resort to discover this island. There are restaurants and bars close by, it wasn't very crowded when we visited which was exactly what I wanted. And there's a bus station just outside the ferry station, can get to airports and many other places.Great value for this place, and breakfast buffet was included, would stay there again for sure.
The Resort is in a nice quiet part of Hong Kong. It is an older building and area but is good value for money.
