Chavisa was a great host - She met us promptly as we arrived and was always ready to help us with directions or recommendations.
Her modest apartment is located near quite a few good restaurants, and a quick block and half walk to the L subway (~15-20 minute ride to union square). The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the heater worked (considering how cold it was on NYE)
We'll definitely consider her again as a host when we head up to NY in the future!!
Everything was great at Chavisa house. Neigborhood was ok (not to scary) and close to williamsburg, about 3-4 stops and 30min ride from Manahattan.
Appartment was clean and really convenient (very nice book collection)
I will definitevely go there again!
I stayed 2 nights in Chavisa place.
The positif points : good location in Brooklyn, safetly neighborhood, great street art and cosy coffes around. Subway is close to the apartment. Chavisa and her roomate were not there when I came, but no problem to take the keys. You feel like in your own apartment when you are by your own here, cook your stuff, hanging around... Its a cosy apartment. Chavisa was helpfull by text and emails, gave some tips, she was super reactive when I needed help.
The negatif points : it was not super clean. Bathroom were enough ok but not super ok to be honest. No toilet paper and no towel. And I had a doubt for the clean sheets.
I could come back in this place, cause I like this aparment and the location, but it could be nice to be receive in a cleaner place.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay and thought this was a good place to sleep while we were visiting NYC.
Location: The place is a short walk from the nearest subway station, and the neighborhood seemed fairly safe. We didn't walk around here very late at night though so I'm not sure what it's like then. I personally wouldn't walk around certain streets past midnight by myself, but it might be okay. It's quick to get to Manhattan.
Room: There were many interesting and artsy things around the room. There is a bed large enough for two people, a desk, and a chair. The windows let in a lot of light, and they can be opened or closed.
Bathroom: It was fairly clean. There was soap and toilet paper (I mention this, because I've stayed at other places where this was an issue). The shower and sink worked just fine. It wasn't dirty, but I also wouldn't consider it sparkling clean. It met our needs for our stay.
Chavisa was a very nice host and answered whatever questions we had.
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We liked to stay in chavisas appartement.
Chavisa is very uncomplicated.
Its very fast and easy to go to manhatten. But if you go back at night sometimes you have to waite very long at the stations.
Chavisa has a very nice flatmate but we saw her just once.
All the things in the room is clean, tidy and beautiful. I love it. The kind of room that can make you tell that the owner is an interesting person. I was also very impressed by Chavisa's book collection.
Chavisa and her friends were great guests. They left the apartment neat and clean, and followed all of the house rules.
