I just spent a wonderful relaxing week in the "Eagles Nest." I received a warm welcome upon arrival, and Anne and Leah made sure that I had everything I needed. The pictures do not do this lovely Victorian home justice. This was much, much more than just a stay in the room, with Anne's many personal touches to make me feel that I was "home." It was obvious that she put her whole heart and soul into her home as well as her guests. Anne genuinely cared that I enjoy my stay, was very accommodating to my needs, but was very respectful of my privacy at the same time.
I slept very well, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the B&B and surrounding neighborhood. Everything was very neat and clean. My bathroom was cleaned halfway during my stay, and I was provided with fresh towels and my bedding was changed. The bed and furniture were extremely comfortable.
Additionally, I was treated to a gourmet breakfast every morning on a beautifully laid table, with fruit and vegetables from Anne's garden, farm-fresh eggs and local meat cooked with skill and presented with artistry. The great variety of breakfasts were healthy, hearty, homemade and sooo delicious. I took advantage of the endless pool and the hot tub, and was not disappointed. I didn't get to the sauna, but that looked wonderful as well. My whole stay felt like a spa retreat, so the cost of staying here had tremendous value.
The B&B is ideally located 1-3 blocks from the downtown businesses: banks, many shops, bakery, restaurants, pharmacy, coffee shop, laundromat and grocery store. In the opposite direction 2-3 blocks away is a huge Flea Market, Dickies outlet store, and the community trail which puts you right in the woods and winds along and over the river. There is also a lovely park nearby. I rarely used my car, and wouldn't have missed it if I didn't have one.
When I left, it was like saying goodbye to friends. If I ever go to Hanover again, I will definitely be back!
