Very good stay in the house of Aroun, she is very sympatic and a little crazy (good crazy). She is very helpfull, i really recommend to stay with her
staying at Aroun's was a great experience! She is really nice and very helpful. on our first day she came at the airport to pick us up and she lent us 2 bikes for the whole stay,so cool!
Also, she told us her "secret spots" in LP, where to go, where to (email hidden)e bought Lao food for us to try, in a nutshell, AMAZING!
I would recommend this host to anyone who truly wants to experience the Lao's lifestyle.
Aroun is a very enthusiastic host, and a very interesting person.
Markus is very knowledgable, and capable of handling just about anything you'll need.
We had a nice stay in the apartment of Markus in beautiful Luang Prabang. We didn't meet Markus as he was quite busy, but a friend of him, who lives next to the apartment, took care of us. She was really welcoming and gave us deeper insides into Lao life.
The apartment is quite tiny for 2 people and the walls are really thin, so you can hear every noise from the neighbour, but if you spend the daytime discovering Luang Prabang, it's totally fine. It's in walking distance to the center (about 20 minutes).
One further remark: In opposition to what was written on airbnb, there was no breakfast besides a coffee.
Great welcoming, large room. Thank you.
Only 500 words??? Ok, Markus is AMAZING. As kind as they come. I rented from Markus and it was like I became part of a family. They are super resourceful and bent over backwards for me. I spent most of my time doing my own thing... I slept in late, was never bothered but had access to everything I needed. If I was every missing something, one of Markus' people (all cool as well) would go get it for me. I was very well taken care of.
The room... was actually even NICER than in the picture. Very colorful and cute decor. The shower had consistently warm/hot water (I just kept it on low pressure to keep the temperature up) and the room had everything I needed.
Markus, is a man with no ego and a great sense of customer service. His wife (Lao... also super kind and quite funny) owns what is now my favorite restaurant in Luang Prabang... Delilah's. The food is delicious, the staff is really great if you get the chance to talk to them a bit and I basically am thankful to Markus and his family, co-workers, friends and network for making my trip. When I come back to LP, I know the first person to contact. 8>D
