We had a wonderful time at Aqua Viva. The place was breathtaking and so relaxing. When we first arrived Kasper gave us wonderful reccomendations of places to go and see as well as eat at. Our stay was very comfortable and we loved how relaxing the atmosphere was. There was a chef that prepared meals and also a beautiful pool and nice fire always happening at night in the fire pit. Overall we loved our stay and hope we can come back someday soon.
Aqua Viva was a total dream- SO BEAUTIFUL. Totally quiet and relaxing, everyone working was super laid back and chilled out. Kasper is as easy going and good looking as the hotel (haha, I couldn't resist) gave us a couple of great restaurant recommendations, and candidly answered our questions about around town. Our room (Alex) was super tiny, but the public areas were so amazing and perfect, we were never really in the room anyway. And even though it was tiny, it was minimalist and cute, and the bed was very comfortable. I would totally recommend this place.
Only stayed for two nights and wish could have stayed longer. The property is great to just relax in, and is as pictured plus more -- bonfire pit, garden, sand volleyball court, etc. Maria and the other local lady were both very helpful. Kasper provided us with directions w/o asking for it, which is great since we arrived late at night. You have to have eagle eyes though and watch out for the AQUA VIVA logo on the property wall/gate -- it's on the left side of the street. There's no other signage except for the small logo. Bring insect spray/Off spray; being the tropics, mosquitoes/bugs abound and find their way into the room.
We spent nine days at Aqua Viva just recently. Kasper is a friendly, welcoming host who made us feel right at home upon arrival. The place is beautiful: a quiet, peaceful enclave just off the main street in the pueblo. Our room was very spacious, with a lofty ceiling. During those one or two hours a day when it was really hot we could turn on the air conditioning, take a dip in the pool or step into the huge, attached private bath to take semi-outdoor shower. If you like the idea of having a lot of space and privacy in Tulum you should consider staying here.
I had a good experience at Aqua Viva. Hosts were accomodating and nice. Initially, I was a little shocked of the Marco( bunkbed room ), though what did I expect, I paid a minimal fee for my accommodation. My son and I quickly got organized enough to not be on each others hair. The common grounds are asthetically pleasing and enjoyable. The location was perfect for a walk into town for dinner and a $7 taxi drive into the beach strip.
There are several places that rent bikes for $15 for 24 hours or $10 for the day. I felt that it would be quite a trek to and from on bike, though very doable. Shampoo and soap are not provided so be sure to pack it. I would book Aqua Viva again!
Aqua Viva is a beautiful and comfortable place. Team was friendly and helpful. Architecture is very unique.
Overall we had a great time there, and it is a fantastic value.
We had some minor problems with hot water, not enough towels in the room, wi-fi needed to be rebooted very often and not strong enough to be used in the bedroom, not water on the last day and overall miss-communication within the team in general.
We decided to leave a day earlier, and they were quite flexible with our decision.
I believe the place has great potential if they were able to improve their management.
Aqua Viva and Kasper were amazing - the pictures and descriptions don't do it justice. Aqua Viva is a beautifully designed hotel that feels like a luxurious (without the arrogance) residential living space. The open floor plan and separate villas created a great communal hang-out environment and the discreet location gave Aqua Viva its tranquil qualities that are often hard to find in hotels. It is located really close to the main highway where you can find amazing food/drinks, shops or a taxi. Aqua Viva is amazing but it wouldn't have been the same without Kasper. Kasper was always there to answer any question I had and gave great suggestions of things to-do that were tailored to me (so don't be shy). AQUA VIVA = HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Kasper was a great host, very helpful with all things Tulum! This place was the ultimate affordable luxury, boutique experience on a artisan beer budget. Initially I wanted to stay by the beach in Tulum but all the good places were sold out and the not so great ones were charging a lot for not much. After staying at Aqua Viva for 2 nights, the decision to not stay by the beach most definitely suited my travel style; we were close to the local fruit/veggie shop and restaurants, close enough to explore the beach and Mayan ruins by bike allowing us to watch locals go about their daily life. We stayed in the FUOCO room which was clean as pictured, the property grounds were well maintained and tastefully designed. The breakfast was fresh, healthy and delicious. The other guests were also friendly and chilled. The only downside of this place are the neighboring roosters and barking dog can be challenging without ear plugs.
The whole team at Aqua Viva were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The place itself was neat and clean and as presented in the photos. There were no problems while staying there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Aqua Viva.
Aqua Viva is amazing! and Kasper is truly the best host EVER. He was so friendly and very helpful with everything. He went so far above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable enjoyed my time at Aqua Viva. I am so happy with my choice to stay here. I liked it so much that I just kept extending my time (for six weeks!). The hotel is beautiful-very peaceful and relaxing- even better than the pictures. The overall vibe is very warm and social. We had several group dinners and evenings with wine by the camp fire with the other guests. I could not have asked for more and will definitely be coming back! This place is very special and was the main reason I enjoyed my time in Tulum so much!
