Response from Cornelius:
I was out of country at time of rental, so I voided any cleaning fee to guest. Despite this, guest checked in a completely clean place and left it a mess, causing $150 (above normal $75) in additional cleaning fees for myself to ready place for next guest. Guest broke garbage disposal, causing $250 replacement.
Guest tore down and destroyed some of my daughters paintings and photos off walls.
Despite being in the EU at the time of rental, I responded to all of guests rants at the time in a professional manner and with courtesy-even if it was at 3AM my time. For the door I have never had such an occurrence happen before (latch guest is referring to is at the top of the door, is always kept down, and to lock one has physically push up, e.g. against gravity, so it cannot happen by accident) with 40+ stays over two years, and living here for the past 8 years, so I was frankly puzzled such could occur. As it was, a neighbor who had never seen the problem quickly fixed it, and when I returned it worked fine.
Only one bed of five in the house is Airbed- their are two other queens that have adjustable firmness levels provided by air, but also have regular mattress.
Yes, their is no toaster but their is two ovens- one can use the convection grill function on either one to make toast. Like most all AirBnB places, food one finds in refrigerator is free to use or throw out. As their was previous guest in place, I am assuming most of what is in there was from that party.
DVD has been replaced- as I was not in the location, I did not know it was not functioning. Dryer is brand new, and there is no water problem that I found when I returned. Washing machine was in the back yard as it was replaced on short notice (see previous review), again despite me not being in the country, which shows that I bend over backwards for my guests.
