Response from Robert:
The reason Ad wrote this review is that I wrote a review on (website hidden) which does not recommend his place ((website hidden)(phone number hidden)-r(phone number hidden)-Jungle_Villa_Rooms-Manuel_Antonio_National_Park_Province_of_Puntarenas.html#REVIEWS). You can read it on (website hidden) and also on this website. I was hesitating to upload the pictures taken while we stayed there since they may make people feel unpleasant. Now I feel obligated to put them online so that other guests don't make the same mistakes like what we did. Again, this place could be a beautiful one if maintained well.
We didn't want to talk to him much while we stayed there since we didn't want him to further ruin our vacation (Ad, nothing personal. You are just managing the place there. Providing torn towels and leaving piles of junk outside the door may or may not be your idea. We felt it would make a bad situation worse if we complained to you directly based on your personality. You at least had one fight with your guests and that complaint is still on (website hidden)) . We simply want to make the best out of it and get the hell out of there.
We have lived in the USA for over 20 years. Both my wife and myself had advanced education (my wife has a PhD and I have a masters). Both of us are working for fortune 100 companies and having very decent incomes. Both my kids (6th grader and 3rd grader) were born in the USA and are top students in classes. "Poor English"?? I guess you need to go back to school for a couple more months of education.
"Our maid complained she had never seen guests before who made such a mess of their rooms." What mess did we make? What mess can we make? There is no single chair or desk in the room. The only things usable in the rooms are two creepy mattresses. I still feel disgusting when I think about the ugly torn towels which we never used. We never left any trash out of the single trash can because we are educated people. What mess can we make in such empty rooms?
You are right, Ad. Costa Rica "is for people who love nature and animals." and that was exactly what we were there for. However, staying in a clean room with basics (clean acceptable towels, average or even below average beds, et al.) does not conflict with enjoying nature. We have stayed in multiple places in Costa Rica and we enjoyed both except your place. After all, over $110 per night is not cheap in a jungle in Costa Rica.
In general, Costa Rica is a beautiful country with plenty of nice people. That is why we visited this country twice in a world full of wonders and choices. We have visited over half of the states in USA. Outside US, we have been to Europe, Canada, Mexico and many Caribbean nations. We have enjoyed the scenery, culture and meeting/talking to different people. The reason I wrote a review on tripadvisor is because I felt too strong about Jungle Villa. I feel obligated to let people know what we have been through.
Believe it or not, that review was my first ever online review. Unfortunately, it was a bad one.
Life is beautiful. I and my family will continue to enjoy our beautiful lives. I sincerely wish you'll enjoy yours too.
