I grew up in Los Angeles, and moved to San Francisco Bay Area shy of my 18th birthday, and never left. I have a long history working in outside sales, and have lived much of my adult life as a road warrior. But now I mostly travel for fun and conferences.
I hold a BA in English/Creative Writing, and a MS in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am a certified BodyTalk and Reiki practitioner, and teach Qi Gong occasionally. In my spare time, I sew or do something creative with my hands. I have lead sewing group/classes for novice sewists in my area. I also cook, and do some nutritional counseling here and there. If I have any time left over, I may be found blogging about sewing or how to source and prepare nutritionally-dense meals.
I am a mom of four, and wife to a jazz pianist by night, and software engineer by day. I wish I spoke more languages, but only fluent in English, and semi-fluent in Cantonese. (Which means, I may be able to order food at a restaurant in Hong Kong.).
Some of my favorite trips include Barcelona, Chosun (South Korea), Hong Kong, and Maui. My travel necessities include knitting and acupuncture needles, Kindle, IPod, Smart Wool socks, Sanita clogs, and my Chinese herbs.
