El Apartamento es como muestran las fotos.

Las cañerías del baño y la cocina se tapaban.
El grifo de la cocina perdía agua cuando se abría.
We stayed at Dan's apartment for 8 days. The apartment looked exactly as on pictures and it was pretty clean. It had everything we needed except an iron, but Dan quickly fetched one from his car after we asked for it :) Dan was very friendly and did not mind checking in and checking out late. He waited for us in the apartment upon arriving from the JFK.
As for the neighbourhood, Astoria is beautiful. Safe neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants and shops. The apartment itself is on ground floor close to Ditmars Blvd. The subway is 5 minutes away by foot and it is the last station, which is convenient because normally you will not wait for a train when going to Manhattan, and you will always find a place to sit.
The appartment was correctly described by the pictures, and is located in a convenient neighbourhood (groceries, lots of good restaurants, subway access allowing easy access to manhathan).
On the other hand, it was far from being clean (the floor was dirty, hairs in the shower ...). Only the kitchen seemed properly cleaned.
We had the unpleasant surprise to find a couple of cockroaches during our stay, as well as some of their excrements along the baseboards. The building as a whole doesn't look like a very clean spot.
The isolation of the flat is poor, lot of outside noise and sunlight prevented some sleep. The main room is also very hot during sunny days, the only airconditionner beeing in the bedroom. If someone has to sleep in the living room, it may thereafter be hard at times. The sofa being uncomfortable, Daniel had the good idea to provide a large airbed.
The check-in was uneasy, we had no answer from Daniel prior to our arrival, and weren't even sure we could enter the appartment. We met the host for maybe one minute, and he was very eager to leave. Nevertheless, he allowed us a late checkout, which was convenient.
Daniel was very accommodating, as we needed to make some last minute changes that affected our check in date and time (thanks to a bad back). Upon arrival, we were met promptly and had quick access to the apartment. Once in, our first observation was that Daniel's pictures accurately depicted the apartment size and layout. However, much like another reviewer, we wondered what the cleaning fee charged went towards. The "clean" bedding, mattress pad, and bathroom rugs were hair and lint filled, requiring an immediate trip to the laundromat that is conveniently located a half a block away. The stained bathroom rugs were placed in the closet and were never used. Much of our first day was spent cleaning the apartment. It should be noted that the red futon is small and uncomfortable. We were aware that there was a single bed (to be used by our child who has to have a bed), but we underestimated (or more appropriately...overestimated) the size of the red futon. It was pure misery for my wife and me to sleep on. Daniel provided access to the wireless internet that never worked properly. It was unbearably slow and did not work most of the time. In fairness to Daniel, we never mentioned it to him because we were able to rely on my smartphone. Once settled, we discovered some fine eateries and grocers within walking distance. We felt safe at all times and enjoyed the area as a whole. The subway station is a five minute walk away and the train ride to Manhattan (Times Square area) is about a 15-20 minutes (huge plus if visiting the city).
We barely spoke to the host, but we were able to check in a bit early. The neighborhood had nice eateries. However, I'm not sure what the cleaning fee went towards because the sofa + bathroom rugs had lint and hair on them, and my friend who slept in the bed got bed bug bites.
I never got above complaints about my apartment and I have it for a few years already. The only problem you had was cleaning fee and price of the apartment.
This house is very closed the Astoria subway (email hidden)ere are many restaurant, coffee bar and market around it. It's not bad experience if you are just 2 guests.
My wife and I enjoyed our week's stay at Dan's apartment. Dan was available on our arrival with the keys to the apartment, which is in a large apartment complex in Astoria. The photograph on the website is an accurate depiction of the apartment, which is spare but more than adequate. The apartment is located in a very convenient part of Astoria. There are many restaurants (Greek, Italian, Japanese, etc.) within a few blocks of the apartment, as well as bakeries and food markets. Some recommendations: MP Taverna, Martha's bakery, Brooklyn Bagel, and Kyclades. But there are many more restaurants to explore in the neighborhood. The subway to Manhattan is a 5 minute walk from the apartment.
Nice little spot ! Comfy bathroom is a little small I'm a pretty big guy so any bigger than me you might be in trouble lol!!! I was really comfortable here.
À fine place with everything you need next to some of the best eateries on earth. Convenient and easy location. Recommend.
