The place was so comfortable, clean and plenty roomy for us four travelers. Karen's place was also in close proximity to great food and planned attractions./
The only thing that seemed to be a problem was finding street parking.
Karen is an outstanding host. She was accommodating and extremely helpful. We were very comfortable and her property was perfect for our visit. It was centrally located and truly within walking distance from a multitude of sites. Being on a main MUNI bus line and near several other primary bus routes put us minutes from anywhere we choose to go. Thank You Karen we are looking forward to seeing you again soon. Sincerely, Babs & Kent S.
Four of us stayed at Karen's for 4 nights in total. Karen was a wonderful host. She told us where everything was at around the apartment and gave us couple of umbrellas to borrow for the rain. To make us feel more like home, she even gave us a bottle of her favorite winery's wine. The location is very good and just around the corner there's really nice restaurants. Restaurant Nopa's brunch was definitely worth the wait!
The apartment was exactly as listed and Karen was super easy to work with. She accommodated my desire for an early check-in and was quick to respond to all questions.
The apt is in the back yard of a lovely house in a good part of town. The front door to the apt was well lit, but I felt the path back to it was a bit dark when getting home after sunset. It is odd that the bathroom consists of a toilet/sink on one side of the room and the shower on the other, but it really wasn't a problem and both were larger than they appeared in the photos. No stove/oven, but I didn't need them - the microwave was sufficient for me. There were also plenty of dishes/utensils. The mattress is firm, but comfy. Although if you are much shorter than I am (5'4"), you might have trouble climbing up into the bed!
The overhead light does let off a horrid hum - it's one of the things that betrays the converted garage feel of the place. The other is the lack of sound insulation between the first and second floors. I could hear the upstairs people conversing, sliding their chairs on the floor and learning morse code (at least, that's what all those taps on the floor/ceiling sounded like to me). You could also hear the buses going up and down Divisadero street. The parts of the floor not covered with rugs were chilly - bring slippers! Over all, though, I had a good stay for less than I would have paid at a hotel (where I'd probably be hearing neighbors on all sides!).
The neighborhood was nice - a block to two different grocery stores (one organic and pricey, the other more like a bodega) and lots of restaurants (go to Eddie's Cafe for a darn good breakfast). There were also nearby bus options to get just about any where in town.
This place is as described, the best part about it is how roomy it is. Other places might be more trendily decorated or have fancier furniture but this place won me over for the space. The beds and the couch are comfy, the linens are nice, there are plenty of towels. There's a washer and dryer, a big plus. There's not much food in the kitchen but I would rather have a good price than extraneous food. Parking is pretty difficult, it's a residential area so there's not many open parking spaces. The wifi is pretty slow but it works. Karen was prompt with replies and there was no personal interactions, the whole process was smooth and easy. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again.
Very convenient location, comfortable bed, and we had privacy which is nice. It was nice to have the tea kettle, tv, and microwave. The price was good for the location!
Glad to find spacious, home away from home lodgings, nothing extra fancy but everything you would need..eat in kitchen, washer/dryer, great water pressure in the shower, separate sitting room with chairs and futon sofa and tv, own thermostat. Karen is businesslike and accommodating. Invited us to her Halloween party upstairs and next day apologized for noise even though we'd heard none. Very handy spot just off Divisidero.
Karen is a great host, studio was just as we expected. She was very helpful with indications as to where to find grocery stores, public transportation, etc. when we arrived. The studio is nicely located, between Fisherman's Wharf and Golden Gate Park. Also very discrete, no problem whatsoever with our intimacy. For a first time on airbnb, I am very satisfied. Thank you Karen! We didn't talk much but we enjoyed our stay :) And thanks for the extra mattress.
Karen met us at the apartment and was helpful in telling us nearby grocery stores and restaurants. The space was neat and tidy and met our needs for our stay. It was in a great location near my family who we were visiting while there and very convenient to other nearby neighborhoods and sites.
Appartement tres bien situé, tres calme et disposant d'un petit jardin, c'etait parfait!!
It 'was a real pleasure for us to host Karen. They are nice people, and clean. They left the apartment in perfect condition. We hope to see you soon in Rome.
