House is pleasant and in an upscale gated community half and hour south of Tampa. We went to see MLB spring training. House is well located to this, also not far from some good beaches. Owner was very good and helpful.
Excellent location for getting to Tampa and the beach. Safe gated community. The house was well stocked with fresh new bath towels and modern dishes. It's a quiet community - we barely noticed the neighbours were there. The living room is very open and the back patio with BBQ was nice for eating dinner.
The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house and have their own bathroom areas so there was lots of privacy between them - almost like having separate hotel rooms.
The reservation was canceled 22 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed in a two bedroom suite at this comfortable and tucked away bed and breakfast. They were renovating the breakfast area at the time so it we did not get to enjoy any of the prepared meals. The owner lowered the price of our stay and did provide some water bottles and grocery store muffins which was nice. The rooms were a little dated in terms of decor but were comfortable and clean.
The bathrooms were stocked with plenty of towels and washcloths. The staff provided good quality Dove soap and shampoo! There are bath robes to use but they need a bit of softener. I did find a wad of hair in the shower though.
The kitchen area was adequately equipped with a mini fridge, trash can, stove+oven, and sink. There are utensils, cups, bowls, and flatware to use but the pots and pans are a bit on the cheap side and don't distribute heat well. There was no microwave or freezer.
The owner allowed us to keep our 1 year old golden retriever in the house which was very nice because we didn't have to pay for boarding (just a cleaning fee).
For recreation there is a fenced yard, tennis court, pool, and putting green. The pool was neat because it was outdoors but enclosed in a screen so that the mosquitos couldn't get to us while we swam. There is a treadmill and dumbells that look like they haven't been used in a long time and there's a hottub that did not seem to be functional.
Each room has a flatscreen TV with Verizon FiOS cable and wifi. There is also a guest computet to use. Central air was very nice in the summer.
Checking in and out was easy and pain free. There isn't much to do in Ruskin, but if you don't mind the 40 minute drive to downtown Tampa then this is a nice alternative to staying in a hotel in a busy city. It's clean, safe, and should be great for traveling families.
Amazing stay in every way! The space was just as described, immaculate and comfortable. My hosts were accessible and communicative and exceptional chefs. I loved every minute of the visit. Thank-you Michael & Annie, we will be back!
Michael was a great airbnb guest. I did not have the honor to meet him in person, but he was clear and friendly in his communication. Michael was a flexible, independent traveler, who left my place super clean. I highly recommend Michael as guest in your home and welcome him back to Hollywood any time.
