We didn't stay very long (late night arrival, early departure) but we found the place easily and were greeted by a helpful man at the front desk who helped us figure out which bus stop to go to the next morning. He also arranged a cab for us. The street noise from the room was a bit loud, but overall this was a very convenient place to spend our first night. Air conditioning unit worked really well, which we needed!
This place SUCKS!!! It smells, it's loud, and oh yea IT SMELLS LIKE OLD WATER!! Looks like the room went through a flood! Walls are pealing, shower leaks all over, and for some reason there's always some banging going on in the kitchen all freaking night!!room seemed like it should have been a storage room because of how close it was to the front desk...NEVER AGAIN!!!
This small hotel had a great location just across the street from the cathedral, a small park, and near several very good restaurants. It was a very short cab ride to the airport. The room we were given was on the 1st floor right behind the reception desk and facing a very noisy street. Traffic, motorcycles, and conversations at the front desk woke us up repeatedly. The walls were dirty and the wallboard damaged and unpainted. Although the photo showed coffeemakers in the room, ours had none and coffee was not available in the lobby in the morning before we left for the airport. The sheets were very wrinkled and I picked hairs out of the sheets before laying down. The comforter was not clean. I would not recommend this hotel.
Great stay before heading to the airport. Safe neighborhood, close to the bus and some great restaurants. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a little loud so the earplugs mentioned by another review could be useful. But I'd definitely stay here again.
Casa Cornejo is well located in the centre of Allejuela and very close to SJO airport. Room are big and very clean, however it is quite noisy cause it is on a very busy road , also I was staying in room 9 on last floor and I didn't have wifi signal there. Overall a good place to stay if you need to be close to the airport.
This place exceeded expectations. We had a room facing the cathedral. A few people had complained about the noise from the street but I can say we both slept well. I would recommend this place to anyone; the location is perfect. The employees were extremely helpful and the neighborhood was filled with friendly people. The night we arrived we walked down to Jalapeno Central for a late dinner and we never felt uncomfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
This was a good place to stay. Safe, spotless, good towels and linens, convenient location to airport. Room was large and in very good order. Many good restaurants nearby. A bit noisy from the street. Would recommend.
Nice basic hotel next to the central park of Alajuela. Breakfast was basic, but alright. The room was clean and not smelly. The bed linen had a few small machine oil stains on them, but I think they were fresh and the stains do not wash out.
Alajuela is a nice little town next to the airport and we felt very safe in the area of our hotel.
Good Price - I would stay there again.
Our host was very accessible and knowledgeable. He helped us with our transportation needs. The room is basic, but the air conditioning worked well. The only reason I wouldn't stay more than one night is because the bed is uncomfortable.
Great room, as described. Helpful staff. Loved the breakfast. Yes it was loud at night but during Christmas break there were a lot of shoppers downtown.
