I have just moved to mountainous area of north-Kyoto this October with my partner after living in center-Tokyo for 12 years. Having experienced this big change in my life and finding great nature everyday, I have come to feel like sharing my experience with visitors from all over the world.
I am a freelance editor, guide as well as English - Japanese interpreter based in Kyoto. In summer, I also work as an event / tour coordinator for the art festival in Nagano. Up until now, I have been an editor of photographic magazine and an interpreter on a world cruise ship and have traveled around the world twice. I am fascinated by the world of language and speak some Spanish, French and Chinese. Well, obviously I love traveling and have visited more than 60 countries in the world :)
I think I am quite an open-mind, friendly guy who love to know about different culture, language and history. As I have traveled a lot by myself without any plan before arriving in a new country, I want to help visitors to Japan to find many secret local places as my hosts had done for me in each country.
As I have also started working as a guide in Kyoto, I am so happy to share my knowledge of Japanese culture. Please feel free to ask any cultural questions (or personal, religious, political, whatever ;) I can't wait to meet you and hear your stories here!
