I'm a young traveller, currently working in a video production house in Singapore, doing content management, concept writing, video editing, and many more. The nature of my job allows me to travel quite a fair bit, and it has further ignited my passion for travelling.
Just like any other young adventure-seekers, I enjoy meeting new people, gaining new experiences and immersing in different cultures. It seems like every time I enter a new country, there's always something new to see, and to learn about. I guess, this is what keeps my wanderlust burning!
I've been to Myanmar, Taipei, Mozambique, Seoul, Busan and Jeju so far, and every place seems to have taken a part of me, and have also given me something amazing in return.
I would consider myself as a more homely person, preferring hostels or home stays more than hotels, because it allows me to immerse in the local culture during my short stay, wherever I am. I guess touristy places are great, but it is really awesome if I get to meet the locals and make fellow traveller friends along the way, and of course, have fun in the meantime! ^^ After all, it's the experience that makes a place special. (:
In Singapore, we call it a "rojak", where my interests in music, movies and books, varies widely. I love John Mayer and Oasis, but I also indulge in K-pop, and top 40s chart music. I love comedies and sitcoms like "How I Met Your Mother", cartoons like "Adventure Time", random YouTube surfing. Oh, did I mention that I LOVE eating? I love Japanese and Korean food the most, and the most interesting part of travelling is eating for me! A recent accomplishment was when I finally took a leap of courage and ate a fried grasshopper in Cambodia. It's actually delicious, you should try it.
To sum up everything about me, you can always check out my Instagram at alinaruth, where my travels and daily life is recorded diligently like a visual diary.
