I'm from Fremantle, Australia, living in Perth, working for Cambridge ESOL. I love all animals ...

Upon our arrival we were met by a friend of the Host's. Unfortunately he was quite deaf and unable to answer even the basic of questions.
The internet was not working and my email to the host resulted in a very curt response that I was the first person to complain about the internet. Suggesting that I must be mistaken. The following day a further email was sent to me stating that due to severe storms many parts of the area were without internet. No apology was forthcoming for the way the host had responded to my concerns.
As for the accommodation: it was disappointing. There was no toilet paper, no soap, no tissues, no dish soap and not even a tea towel. There was no bathmat. There were dirty and cracked dishes left on the sink. The floors were dirty leaving our feet filthy. I have blonde curly hair, so it was of great concern to me to find long straight black hairs on the bed sheets. The electric water jug had a faulty cut off switch which allowed the jug to boil dry, this was extremely dangerous, after the first time we wouldn't use it again for fear of causing a fire.
The utensils and cooking equipment supplied was the epitome of meanness.
There was no dining table or chairs in the apartment, if you wished to eat at a table, it had to be done outdoors.
The gaps in the bedroom door leading to the back area was an invitation to the mosquitos and we were covered in dozens of bites on our first night there.
Dee Dee needs to supply her guests with the address written in Thai as not one taxi driver we dealt with understood the address, the map provided was no help as no-one knew where the Medicare building was located.
I expected more from a fellow Australian.
An extremely disappointing experience.
If you want to have a good time in Chiang Mai, this is not the accommodation for you.
I love Chiang Mai although it's my first time to be there, lovely people and wonderful fruits.
Dee-Dee's house is just lovely too, like the Chiang Mai style with good location and local neighborhood. We are very near from the old city and with local markets around you can buy anything.
Everything is like the photoes, so don't worry. The only thing a little inconvenient is there's no air blower in the big house(probobly i didn't find it yet...) and her friend Tony who showed us the house is a great guy as well.
The best part of the house is its home feeling. me and my parents lived there for only 4 days, my parents want to rent for 1-2 months already... I think when we have holiday and chances to be in Chiang Mai, we'll book here again.
DeeDee managed to advise us well from Australia. Her contact person in Chiang Mai was extremely helpful. I particularly enjoyed the spaciousness of the townhouse. Loved the location. A bit away from the hustle of business while within easy access of the old city and food as well as convenience stores. I d stay again
Dee Dee's townhouse in Chiang Mai is just lovely! We are a family of four and stayed for a little over 2 weeks. It was perfect for us. It is spacious and well appointed with a lovely courtyard that was perfect for relaxing in the hammock after a day of sightseeing. The kitchen has what you need although you won't cook much since eating out is so inexpensive and delicious. The location is absolutely perfect with easy access to the old city, markets, the newer part of Chiang Mai, the zoo, and shops, cafes and restaurants just north of the city. While close to everything, the town home is on a quiet residential street and we got to know the neighbors, nearby shop owners and we had our favorite neighborhood food stands that we frequented. Dee Dee and Niall were always quickly available via email and everything went very smoothly for the duration of our stay. We highly recommend!
Unfortunately, this lovely and spacious apartment has perhaps suffered due to neglect over time. One of the toilets didn't work while we were there. Half the lights were out, and the other half hummed fluorescent. One of the outlets was covered in tape. And the back porch was too dirty to want to open the windows on that side of the house.
One the positive side, the place was very spacious and fairly clean. The kitchen was great to use, and the front porch was a nice cool place to sit. The street is very safe, and it's a short walk to old town or food stalls.
Tony and Su met us right on arrival and were there to take the keys when we left. Everything else was fine.
We enjoyed our stay here. The townhome was good sized, and the location was convenient. We ate at the nearby night market a couple of times, and the food was tasty. One of the carts had an English menu. We also enjoyed the Jazz bar across the moat.
We had a pleasant check in experience with Dee-Dee's friends, and quick email communication with Dee-Dee.
The only slightly negative things were that the downstairs bed was a bit hard, and the downstairs bathroom is cramped. But there is also an upstairs bedroom and the upstairs bathroom is larger and has a tub.
All in all it was nice to have a whole house to ourselves, and we were comfortable.
Our host Dee Dee was very informative. The house is in a Thai neighborhood as explained but we still found ourselves going into the busier tourist areas for more variety of restaurants and shops. Tuk tuks and local buses were cheap and close by.
The house is quite comfortable. The downstairs bathroom is very small and a bit tricky to shower in.
It was nice to have an entire house to ourselves.
Dee Dees friends Tony and Su were there to meet us and kindly drove us to the bus terminal when we left.
It would be good to have had something to play some music on, CD player.
We enjoyed brekkie at Fern Garden, an easy walk.
Dee dee is so nice the house owner.Lovely place，very good location，near by old city.Satisfied！
And，thanks Dee dee's friends Su and Tony.
Many thanks Jingjing and glad you enjoyed your stay.
Hope you have many happy travels!
Dee-Dee's Inner-city pad was in a great location. We were able to walk around the whole old city and went to many restaurants and cafes. We also rented motor scooters from a business close to her home. Also the laundry lady was on the alleyway. There was no AC downstairs (just two fans) and the downstairs bathroom was very small with no real defined shower area, but the upstairs AC worked well and the upstairs bathroom was spacious. We never met Dee-Dee as we only communicated by email, but the communication went well. The front yard sitting area was very nice, but there were only two chairs for the dining table and we had a group of four people. It was very quiet and peaceful on the street of private homes and the home has a lot of potential.
Dee-Dee stayed at our place for 4 nights. Communication before and during their stay was easy and the villa was left in a clean and tidy condition. We would be happy to recommend Dee-Dee to other Airbnb hosts.
Dee Dee and her husband were excellent guests, interesting as they were so interested in exploring the local.
