Hey, I'm George. I'm an artist, I run a studio program/gallery and I teach. I have a weird little dog and a rooftop garden in Brooklyn. I travel for shows, performances or talks about my work.

super host, apartment and neighborhood! We've been to George's several times and love it. Thanks George!
George's apartment was perfect in every way. It's located near 2 Subway stations, so it's close to everything. The place is very cosy and nice, full of art and beautiful things. We sometimes didn't even want to leave. Also the private deck is fantasic! George is the best host. She left us snacks and was always ready to help out. A wonderful experience for us!
Come back anytime! Bring more stroopwafels! ;-)
Old but cozy apartment, with great location. Good restaurants right round the corner, and just a short walk to the L train. Unfortunately the apartment deck was impossible to use due to the extremely noizy sportsbar in the backyard. The host was nice, she had some snacks waiting for us when we arrived which was really sweet.
Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear you couldn't use the deck! I've had occasional evenings that were loud, but it has never been a problem during the day and they've always wrapped up at a reasonable hour. I'll email you about this for more info.
My friend and I traveled to Brooklyn recently and stayed at George's lovely Williamsburg apartment. The pictures are a very accurate depiction of her cute place. It's filled with a lot of light because there are windows on 2 sides of the building, it was cool and breezy there. It's very spacious for 2 people traveling together. There is a little street noise in the living room area-I didn't mind, but it's situated on the 2nd floor and is quite quiet overall, also felt safe and private. The deck located off of the back bedroom is amazing and definitely made it worth staying there. And location location location! George had some great nearby cafe recommendations, you've got to try 'Egg'!
Thanks, Morgan! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. And thanks for the tip about the plants; that's a great idea. I'll definitely look into it. Say Hey to Gary!
George's apartment was great and she was a very attentive hostess. Thank you for a nice weekend in the city!
Warm welcome with food and place and neighborhood are just superb. We fell in love with it.
I did not have a chance to meet George as she was out of town. Nevertheless, I have the feeling I have met her as she was always checking that everything went smoothly and that I felt comfortable in her flat. The flat is decorated with a wonderful taste. I really considered the place my home while in New York. This is a wonderful impression when one travels a lot. Thank you George. I will come back without hesitation to her flat.
The apartment is eclectic and arty, spacious and light.
A month's stay at George's apartment provided us with ready access to cosmopolitan Williamsburg, and great subway connections from Bedford and Marcy, to Manhattan.
The surrounding area abounds with restaurants offering many cuisines (Millers was our favourite for both food and service), cafes (best coffee at Oslo) and the supermarket on Third was excellent, with friendly and helpful staff.
Bearing in mind that the apartment is located in a mixed residential and commercial area, noise from the street was variable, although generally okay. The sports bar, three doors away, was very noisy on football nights, with noise coming from both the street and also the back garden outside bar area, however with the door to the deck closed, noise from the bar was minimised.
We appreciated the warmth of George's welcome and also that she checked in via sms, from time to time, to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed caring for her plants and garden.
I stayed in George's lovely apartment with 1-3 others over a period of four weeks. The apartment was beautiful and just as described. Four of us fit comfortably on the big bed and comfortable foldout. The apartment is so airy and filled with light and the deck is the perfect place to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.
The neighbourhood really is vibrant and full of shops, bars and restaurants. We felt safe the entire time in the area, and it was very easy to access Manhattan as well as the other boroughs via the multiple subway stations which are near.
George was lovely and able to help with any issues we had. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in the area.
My parents came in NYC end of may to visit me and we were looking for a place in this neighborhood as I live close by. And this was the perfect place. First of all it was a pleasure to meet George, we met before booking and it directly went well. George is a lovely and warm person, she knows the neighborhood and is perfect to give you tips for places around. She even printed a list of her favorite places to accommodate her guests. About the apartment, it is gorgeous and very well decorated. You know there's life here and it makes you feel welcomed. Plenty of natural light and great atmosphere. My lil sister slept on the bed-couch (?) for the 5 nights and told me she felt like in a bed. Larger room is also perfect and the terrace.... definitely a spot you want to hang out in when summer is coming! They had a lot of fun here and I had the chance to enjoy it a well so I'd like to thank George for the week. Definitely the place I'd book if my parents or friends would come back.
George was so easy to communicate with, and is such a positive person. I am thrilled she stayed in my place, and hope she would choose to do so again! Also, she left my condo spotless, and clearly took good care of the space. Thank you George!
George and her friend, Mindy, were charming and interesting guests. I really enjoyed meeting them. George lets out her beautiful apartment in Brooklyn on airbnb which I hope to visit one day.
George is a great communicator and a kind, friendly and caring person who I would recommend to other airbnb hosts.
George was a lovely guest-- easy to communicate with and very neat and respectful of our home. We would gladly host her again.
I rented George's place in Williamsburg (right in the middle of everything) for 2 months last summer. It was my intention to only stay one month and then find another place when George returned. I was having some difficulty locating another place to stay for my last month in NYC so George invited me to stay and pay a much lower rate to just rent her living room/pull out couch, which I did. Very sweet lady.
The Apartment is beautiful, and full of incredible art most of it George's if I'm not mistaken. Awesome rooftop garden as well. If available, I'll stay here every-time I'm visiting NYC.
George is one of the kindest and most conscientious people that I have ever had the privilege to stay with. New York is an amazing city where you will be assured of sensory overload, but at George's apartment you will find a beautiful, peaceful oasis with a host who is genuine, intellectually challenging, compassionate, fascinating, and hilarious. George will make you romanticize New York in the way that all visitors should.
George is such an incredibly lovely person whose home reflects her personality - comfy, warm, beautiful... every time I visit I'm envious of her apartment and her aesthetic that's given it such a cozy decor. Importantly, she's one of the most trustworthy and honest people I've encountered - so no concerns to be found about doing business with her.
George is the most incredible person I know. Kind, reliable, generous and patient. I would trust her with my first born child.
So putting my apartment envy aside, George is one of the best people I know. She has a generosity, warmth and elegance that overflows into her environment. She was one of the first friends I made after moving to New York from London. Meeting her was the reassurance I needed that this was a city I was going to be happy in. I'm glad to have her close. And extremely lucky, too.
George's apartment really is beautiful and the location better than any I know. If you want a taste of the life of the 'Brooklyn artist' that we foreigners so romanticise, you couldn't ask for more. Frankly, you'll never want to leave.
George is a good friend and a lovely person. I've enjoyed many a nice afternoon hanging out on the deck in the gorgeous New York sunshine. You won't find a better area then this flat, with restaurants, cafes, wine shops, beer gardens, etc., etc. lining the streets and patios on every street corner.
If I didn't live in Brooklyn myself I would be looking to rent this apartment from George.
