What a wonderful stay at such a lovely and peaceful place! Everything was exactly as expected. My room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The shared facilities were always very clean as was the outdoor shower.
Katya, who works in the boutique, was incredibly helpful with everything including information about the area and booking tours and shuttles. The yoga studio is beautiful. The yoga classes were easy to follow for a beginner like me. The instructor, Maite, was excellent.
I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing stay in nature.
Brendan and Sofia have such a beautiful and peaceful home. I wish I had time to stay longer! If you like yoga - you'll really enjoy their 1.5 hour classes held each morning :)
Had a lovely stay at this quiet abode, response time on communication was super fast. Simple rooms that do not feel barren, a proper kitchen, and good company to share. Would definitively recommend.
wow what a nice stay we had there! beatifull place, very peacefull and very well maintained! i love the fact that we stay in eco containers, Wake up with the sound of the bird, and the jungle! we did some yoga in the morning and surf in the afternoon!! Sophia and Brendan were very nice and welcoming! the surf studio is awesome, the place is awesme and the kitchen is perfect!! i highly recommend!!!
The eco-retreat served as great, affordable lodging for my first solo adventure to Costa Rica. It is located in the very small town of Dominical but has lots of restaurants, markets, beaches, and great sight seeing locations all nearby! Brendan was nice enough to set up my transportation there and back to the airport (shared shuttle cost $50/Private shuttle cost- $150). I didn't see much of Brendan or his wife really during my stay, but the woman working in their office has a breadth of knowledge about the town, and awesome places nearby, and helped me arrange all of my activities during my stay! She had great dining suggestions and was always so nice and patient with me. I really appreciated her amazing customer service!
In regards to the rooms, they were clean and small but suitable for 1 or 2 people max. The beds are so comfortable! My only "complaint" with some of the rooms are that some of them share a window with the kitchen, so any and everything happening in the kitchen (especially early in the morning) feels like it's happening right in your room. One day during my stay, there also was really loud (unexpected on my end) construction going on all day long that was very noisy. Also, the shower is an outdoor shower but it's actually very nice and still offers you privacy! I got used to it very quickly and had no issues with it during my stay.
Lastly, the yoga studio is beautiful and the classes are awesome. I'd definitely recommend Danyasa for lodging to those who are visiting Costa Rica and want to have a more authentic experience during their visit, rather than just staying at a resort.
I had a wonderful experience staying at Danyasa. It's a beautiful, special place centrally located in Dominical near the beach and restaurants. I stayed two nights on a solo trip and I wish I had stayed longer. Brendan and the staff were great.
We were at danyassa for only three nights. We loved the fact that it is located in the middle of Dominical. The vibe there is very communal. Their three dogs were precious. Beds were comfortable and the ac was key. The rooms are very secure which was nice to not have to worry about our stuff. The yoga studio is perched on top of the rooms which gives a lot of shade to the property and the rooms. We hardly ever saw the staff but if we needed something they were happy to help. The bathrooms and shower are all outside the rooms and shared. I didn't mind but my girl did. It just depends on who yar. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beach and really everything for that matter is just down the street. Seeing that it was the end of the high season just before Easter we had the entire place to ourselves. I don't think we saw anyone that wasn't staff the entire time. We actually enjoyed it.
Beautiful place and great location. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to meet Brendan as he was out of town and I was only in Dominical for a short time, but Danyasa was everything you'd want to experience in Costa Rica. Close to surf rentals and restaurants. Definitely recommend
We arrived in Uvita and needed a place to stay that had good wifi and was close to the beach. Brendan was running errands in Uvita and offered to pick us up. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't want to leave, the location is ideal for quiet work time with beach breaks in between, macaws flying around a fully stocked kitchen and sublime silence in the rooms! And as a bonus they offer yoga classes and are Eco-conscious! Their Eco boutique has some awesome jewelry, art, clothes and wonderful staff. If you're in Dominical this is the place to stay.
Staying at the Danyasa Eco-Retreat was a dream! It was truly unlike any other accommodations I had ever experienced. The renovated shipping containers are lovely and completely innovative. They were complete with modern dimmer lighting, A/C, fan, shelving, queen bed and many windows. The jungle shower was wonderful as it coined hot water, privacy, and lots of space.
Sofiah was welcoming, warm, and kind.
We didn't stick around the accommodations too much as we were out exploring during the day- but definitely looked forward to going back for a lovely sleep in the evenings.
I would definitely recommend the Danyasa Eco-Retreat for individuals who are looking to feel relaxed and at peace as it's placed in a tranquil jungle atmosphere. The quiet and stillness of the environment was flawless.
