Danyasa is an amazing creation of Brendan and Sofie Thom. They truly represent their way of life in the thought that went into this "community". It is a place for reflection and empowerment.
A great place to stay if you are in Dominical. We are not into yoga (I did try) and I do think that if you are you would like Danyasa even more.
The deck and rooms are at the back of the house/studio so you won't be bothered by street noices and traffic.
Rooms are small but cosy, clean and have ac.
The deck is a nice place to relax, read a book and has a well equipped kitchen.
The owners are really nice people.
Great to have you with us Jessica! And you excelled in yoga.
They did a great job welcoming me and showing me all of the details of my stay.
Don't have enough good things to say about this gem. The space itself is very peaceful and comfortable, a veritable sanctuary. The yoga studio is beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful in scheduling stuff to do. Dominical is the perfect town for travelers who are trying to save dough and looking for a less touristy experience. By comparison Manuel Antonio felt like Daytona Beach. Great surfing and affordable food (eg Cafe Mono Congo, Pescalito Loco). Filled with local characters and otherwise warm people
Thanks David, it was great meeting you and helping you discover our little beautiful town. Selena
Great place for a yoga retreat. In the heart of Dominical and walking distance to everything in town including the beach. Clean and quiet. Roos are a little small and they are made out of cargo containers, so probably not for everyone. Only one room with private bathroom and kitchen is shared by all guests. The yoga room is stunning !!
We had a nice time here, Thanks!
I staied 10 days at Danyasa and had a wonderful time. Everyone working there was very nice and always made sure everyone was happy. My room was smal, but perfectly fine and I was able to use the kitchen area as "livingroom".
All the Yoga Teachers where different and very inspiering.
Thank you Brendan!
We had an amazing stay at Danyasa! Outdoor living at it's finest. Yoga, jungle showers, coconuts next door, beach just minutes away, hula hopping, kind and loving people, this place is so awesome! I would highly recommend Danyasa to anyone visiting Dominical. It was worth the 7hr drive. Brendan and Sofiah were so kind and trusting and went out of their way in making sure that we had a relaxing stay. They are superb hosts!
Danyasa Eco-Retreat was the perfect spot in Dominical. It is a short walk from the beach and right in the center of town.
The room had everything we needed: clean towels, comfortable bed and a/c. The communal dining room/porch and kitchen were great places to connect with other travelers.
We loved practicing yoga in the studio on our own and taking classes a few times. Another favorite element were the dogs.
I highly recommend this spot for people looking to meet other travelers, eat free coconuts and plantains, and enjoy outdoor showers.
My husband and I stayed at Danyasa for 3 nights. It was a great experience. First, everyone who worked there was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Second, the grounds of the Eco-retreat were quite impressive. There was so much thought put into every little detail. It really feels like a magical place. The rooms are in an actual shipping container and are quite cozy (in a good way). There is an outdoor kitchen, common porch area and outdoor shower that give the place a very special charm. I wish we could have stayed longer. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to practice yoga while we were there, but the yoga room was amazing - so open to everything. I would highly recommend Danyasa, and next time we are down in CR, we would definitely stay there again!
