We are a small boutique guesthouse in Dublin's north inner city. We've been living here for about 8 years and renowned for our hosting. We'll welcome you to Dublin, and look after you.
Fabulous all around, thanks guys! Waking up after a night drinking a few too many Guinness to a that magical porridge with whiskey topper was far and away best breakfast I've ever had! 100pct recommend staying here to anyone visiting Dublin!
Excellent accommodation and breakfasts! A wonderful experience!
My sister and I arrived into Dublin on a chill November day, bleary-eyed from our overnight flight from New York. Despite the early hour, we were warmly welcomed by Kevin and Sir Fred the schnauzer, and served hot tea and fresh made scones with homemade strawberry ginger jam! Kevin and Garvan were full of suggestions about places in Dublin to visit and sites to see. They recommended a glorious tour of the Wicklow mountains, the hop on/off bus tour, and dinner at what turned out to be our favorite pub in Dublin. They were the perfect hosts--welcoming without being intrusive, charming, funny, and AMAZING COOKS! Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon over homemade pumpkin seed bread? YES, PLEASE. The "cosy fireplace room" couldn't have lived up to its name more. I slept soundly on what may be the most comfortable mattress and crisp sheets I've ever encountered, while the fireplace crackled in the background. Anyone traveling their way around the EU understands the allure of a great shower and theirs was absolutely second to none. I had forgotten my conditioner, but was able to nab a bit from the L'Occitane products the hosts generously leave in the shower for guests to share. (Unfortunately, I am now addicted to it!) If I am lucky enough to come back to Dublin I simply would not stay anyplace else--nor should you!
We had just a great experience with Kevin and Garvan. Their home was beautifully appointed, every detail attended to, breakfasts that one would expect from a posh hotel, and excellent tourist advice for seeing the sights, even alerting us to Culture Night and The Fringe Festival which coincided with our stay. The locale is within easy walking distance of several museums and places of interest, and also to the bus stop for everything else. They'll even make reservations for you for the more popular restaurants. Highly recommended.
We were welcomed on arrival with fresh coffee and home made scones and jam! On entering our room there was fresh flowers and soft classical music was playing. I have to say Kevin and Garvan really know how to add a bespoke experience to their B&B!
Garavan is a great cook and the breakfast is amazing! Everything is home made and thoughtfully presented.
If your looking for a place to stay in Dublin which is calming, offers great food, hosts who have a wide range of local knowledge of where to go, "Two rooms in Dublin" has it all, I would recommend Kevin & Garvan to anyone going to Dublin.
It's no shock that Kevin and Garvan (and Fred) have one of the best B&Bs in Dublin. From the time we arrived to the time we left, it felt as if we were staying with friends and one of the cutest dogs ever. The kindness and generosity from Kevin and Garvan is hard to come by. The food was some of the best we had on our trip. The room was gorgeous as well. I would definitely recommend staying here in Dublin!
Beautiful Georgian style home minutes away from downtown. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Kevin and Garvan were great hosts. The breakfasts were superb, restaurant recommendations were excellent and the beds/rooms were very comfortable. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasurable experience - highly recommend!
Sehr schöne Unterkunft und super nettes und hilfsbereites Personal.
Alles sehr persönlich gehalten.
Kann ich nur empfehlen
This was a perfect way for us to end our Irish adventure. We felt pampered and very taken care of by Kevin and Garvan. The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was consistently amazing and I only wish that they came back to Maryland with me to help me cook such wonderful French toast. Their dog Fred was super sweet and we enjoyed coming home to a friendly furry face.
Communication with them was a breeze and they were super flexible with our arrival time. In one email I asked for a recommendation for dinner for our anniversary. Not only did they recommend somewhere (Fallon and Byrne= delicious) but they also made us a reservation and had congratulatory glasses of champagne waiting for us at our table.
We did leave something at the house, which of course I remembered as soon as we got to the airport. I already had a message from Garvan about it. He put in in the mail for us before we had even landed at JFK.
We can't say enough good things about our experience in Dublin and would whole heartedly recommend this to anyone.
For my first time in Ireland and in AirBnB, I think I was rather lucky to start my trip at Garvan and Kevin's. Our stay was perfect! They are fabulous hosts and Fred, their sweet dog is a love!
We arrived very late and we were so warmly welcome with tea and homemade cookies... Kevin and Garvan were really attentive to us and make us fell at home. They recommend us a lot of great things to do, but, unfortunately, even in 4 days, we haven't had enough time to try everything! So, for sure, we will come back...
The room was so sweet, well-decorated, every detail perfect, and the breakfast... I can't find the words to say how wonderful they are!
So, You'll understand that I strongly recommend Garvan and Kevin's place!
We only got to meet Garvan very briefly, but he was a great guest, very interesting to speak to. He was quiet coming in at night and left the room very tidy. If we're over in Dublin we'll definitely try and stay in his BandB!
We hope to see you again soon as we really enjoyed your company and the energy you brought to our place.
Kevin and Garvin were commendable in communication, very accurate and uncomplicated. They were absolutely pleasant and friendly people. The apartement was in perfect condition when they left. I would rent to them without a second thought. Absolutely recommendable!
I've known Kevin all my life and the home he has made with Garvan holds wonderful memories of laughter, mischief and some spectacular meals.
These are gentlemen of considerable taste and this is perfectly reflected in their beautiful home and the welcome they always afford this guest.
I'm not at all surprised at the praise the boys are getting from their airbnb guests; they know how to host.
I've known Kev and Garv for a long time and they are indeed renowned for hosting in their home - I've been a happy guest many times. It's a fantastic house, and anyone that stays is guaranteed a relaxing stay, great food and stimulating conversation. The Georgian house is tastefully and individually decorated, and has a special feature - lovely Fred the dog. The guys also run a community garden at the end of the street so a lot of the fresh produce couldn't be more local!
If I didn't own a house one street away from Kevin and Garvan, I'd be coming to stay in their place too! In all seriousness, the two lads will take excellent care of any guests and you'll be treated like a friend the minute you walk in the front door. The house is beautiful, with many original features and some quirky modern touches as well. You're 5 minutes from the city centre on foot, and by staying there you'll get to experience the real Dublin in a way that you just couldn't by staying in a hotel or hostel. What are you waiting for?
If you want a place to stay that is different from the normal accommodation type, one with great food, hospitable hosts, and within walking distance to everything, then you could do no better than Garvan and Kevin's home. You will feel at home the second you walk in the door, and you will want to stay longer when you are leaving.
Kevin & Garvan's place is simply the best find in Dublin: their hospitality is second to none, and the centrality of their home makes it ideal to walk into the city. Garvan is an accomplished cook, and loves to lavish attention on his guests, and Kevin is a veritable encyclopedia of all things happening in the city (that matter). If you are thinking of staying in Dublin, don't think of staying elsewhere.
Kevin and Garvan are community activists, and general, all-round good guys. They are the founders of the Summer Row Community Garden , on the street where they live. Their home is an oasis in the heart of the city, and their hospitality is legendary - great food and conversation in a very relaxed ambiance. Generous to a fault, they will pamper you and delight in making your stay in Dublin truly memorable, with the personable Fred making no small contribution.
Stunning two storey over basement pad that is a perfect oasis for R&R. Tucked away off the brooklynesque tree lined city centre end of the North Circular road, K&G's place is the perfect spot for a relaxing stay in Dublin. Beautifully designed patio and back garden that leads from a homely kitchen that is flooded with light. Very spacious living rooms and bedrooms and open fire. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
Staying at Kevin and Garvan's is like staying in the most luxurious of hotels. The fires are bright and cheerful, the beds are welcoming and comfortable, the decor is restful and spiked with interesting pieces and the food is hearty and delicious, truly restaurant quality. Best of all, Kevin and Garvan are gracious, personable hosts full of insiders' knowledge about Dublin and can recommend the best places to shop, sight-see and dine. You are swathed in comfort and as savvy as a local if you visit this gorgeous home.
