Pierre and Lorena are providing a wonderful service with their hostel, and the location is incredibly beautiful!
Lorena and Pierre are great hosts, and their place is a cool pad in the rain forest just off the road to Hana and not far from Paia....hands down the coolest town in Maui and home to great restaurants. There are great hikes to waterfalls and fresh fruit stands nearby, and we met lots of fellow travelers there and made some new friends. It was truly an international home away from home at a great price for super-pricey Maui!
Lorena was really helpful and very kind, despite all my changes! I would highly recommend to stay at her place if you are in Maui.
Place is awesome. very nice peoples in a very nice house. We realy enyoied our stay.
I spent a couple of days there and had some very deep sleep in the jungle area... :)
Pierre and Lorena are great hosts, extraordinary helpful for making plans on Maui, super friendly and always have time to share some laughter with their guests.
Guess I will be back
From our hostel in Wailuku, we took the bus to Paia. Standing in front of the local church, we met a guy who moved to the island about a year ago. Together the three of us hitchhiked from Paia to Haiku, and then to Twin Falls. Since the guy we just met lived in Twin Falls, he took us around the jungles and we swam under the waterfalls. After leaving Twin Falls, we walked about 15 minutes to the Windsurfer house. Pierre, Lorena and their other housemates were very hospitable and friendly! The private room had a huge bed and was quite comfortable. We highly recommend staying here. No car is necessary if you're open to hitchhiking :)
The place is more like a hostel with lots of young, fun people from around the world rather than a home. The people were nice and the only down side was that there was only one shower that had hot water. The location is nice and quiet, right by Twin Falls along the road to Hana.
Damp! Mosquitoes! First we got lost on the way there as directions weren't that clear and the place is in the middle of the rainforest. It could be a beautiful house but the owners do not seem to take care of it.
I had a great time meeting people from all over the world at the Windsurfers House. Everyone, both guests and overseers at the house, was very friendly and helpful. Being a single traveler, I really appreciated the reasonable rate it cost me to stay there. Since I am in the process of moving to the islands, it was nice to have the possibility of staying a short time or a long time, with variable rates for a day, a week, or a month. There was no wifi or Internet and the Verizon connection was very weak, but I still managed to use my iPhone there pretty well, and there were wifi and good Verizon reception as close as Twin Falls a mile away, or in Haiku and Paia. If you don't mind no frills accommodations, this house is a great place to meet interesting people and make new friends.
Great place. Great people. Clean, fun and accomadating.
