Professional. Respectful and courteous to neighbors. Creative and warm.
The host was very kind and considerate to take us in with such short notice (our original host cancelled on us less than 12 hours before arrival) We never got to meet her, but accessing the apartment was very easy through the buildings manager. The location is perfect, so close to central park, many bars and resturaunts and shopping outlets. The subway is also very close if you wish to go further. The room is spacious and cosy. It doesn't have much furniture but has everything that you need. Also has an easy to access laundry. The add says bring own towels/linen. We purchased brand new towels and linen upon arrival and left them in the closet (clean) when we left for future guests.
I booked this apartment for my husband who needed a last minute reservation. This is his review:
Well located, sunny studio. It was an easy enjoyable walk to my work near Grand Central. (approx 15 minutes). Also good subway access to other parts of the city and many fun restaurants and bars nearby.
Only one elevator was working during my stay but I didn't have to wait long for a lift, it just made my ride a little squishy. The apartment was a little too sparsly furnished for me, but it was an open, nice and clean place to stay.
The studio is very sunny, located in a nice building.Great location, close to everything. Windows are facing backyard so it's very quiet. It's a bit spartan , what you see on pictures is what you get.
I haven't seen Payamemma but I had no problems with communication -she was always available.
Over the past 3 years, I have hosted many families with babies and small children. The experience has always been wonderful, both for me and for my guests. I have never had a complaint from a mother or father of small children. I've even provided a play pen, a stroller, and other items for families.
She was the most difficult and disappointing guest I've ever had. She is a person who does not respect or honor any protocol or rules. I'm a host with over 100 POSITIVE reviews and I have never had this experience.
Right off the bat, she requested to be outside of the airbnb system as she didn't want to pay their booking fees. I requested to go through airbnb for a few days, as I believe in airbnb. She is the one who requested to be billed via paypal, and thus I was charged numerous fees. When she broke her 2 month contract she expected to receive a full refund of monies I never received. I refunded her the amount I received without applying any penalties for breach of contract.
I keep my home at 72F degrees during the day and at 70F at night, but because she felt it was cold I honored her request and increased the overall heat in the house to 74F and provided her with an extra electric heater. I asked her if they were warm enough and she said "Heat is great". Upon her departure many windows in the apartment were opened, so it's hard to believe the apartment wasn't warm enough.
My house is a 100 year old wood frame home. It isn't a modern concrete building, and noise travels easily. I requested for the vacuuming to be done after 9am and for them to be conscious of noise when they arrived past 11pm. They never respected these requests, as they felt they were unreasonable, so they decided to break the contract. Note that she stopped vacuuming for the remainder of her stay, which was 10 days.
The conditions that they left the apartment in were appalling. Food particles all over the house, including the bedrooms, fresh and dried-up spilled drinks on the night table, refrigerator with food and egg splatters in it. A total disaster--and not in the same condition that it was rented to her. We offer our guests some breakfast items, extra stock of toilet paper, toiletries, etc. These were all completely cleared out. In 3 years, I have never had a person eat, or take, absolutely everything that was in the apartment.
I'm sorry to say that I would not recommend anyone renting to her or her family.
