Yes for sur you can stay in hamaca surf camp
A truly unique and exciting experience for anyone visiting Tamarindo. Wake up on your hammock to the sounds of crashing waves and, at times, howling monkeys. My girlfriend and I wanted to try something different and this fit the bill well. The hosts were welcoming and told us to enjoy their pool (the entire ocean).
Every night they play good vibe music and have good drink specials. The food at El Pescador (attached restaurant) is also pretty good.
I will say that this is not for an accommodation for someone who doesn't appreciate the outdoors. If you are worried about not having a mirror to look at yourself or can't stand the idea of using a mosquito net, you should look elsewhere. This place is phenomenal for those looking for a rugged, unique, outdoorsy experience.
This was my very first hostel experience. And probably my last. To start, staff members seemed to be unaware/unclear of our already confirmed reservations. Attempting to charge us extra, threatening there were few hammocks available. One can see how this may be stressful for a family of 7. Once we arrived we were promised 7 hammocks to sleep in but we only managed to find 5. In addition the stairs up to sleeping area and to bathroom access was poorly lit. Despite the poor sleeping arrangements, and the fact that we were charged to park outside of Hamaca, the location is great. And we were able to listen to the ocean and wildlife... Along with the reggae, scent of marajuana, and clamor of people below. Our family does not plan on staying with Hamaca again but if you don't mind sharing space, bathrooms, kitchens, and possibly your own hammock than this place may be right for you.
It was a cool experience to sleep in an actual hammock right in front of the beach and wake up to howler monkeys. Great for back packers. The restaurant had a laid back vibe and the people were cool too.
Hamada Surf Camp was a wonderful place to stay at. The owners are extremely friendly and the dormitory with the hammocks well organized and clean. The restaurant affiliated with the camp offers wonderful dishes that I highly recommend. Right on the beach, this place is perfect for the people who want to relax for a couple of days. The communal kitchen is also a great alternative for people on a budget who can't afford a restaurant every night. Loved it!
This was booked last-minute by my mother, who is unfamiliar with airbnb. She did not realize until after making the reservation that sleeping here meant that I'd be sleeping in a hammock on the beach. While that may be ideal for some people it was more adventure than I wanted to experience, so I DID NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.
Very fun experience. You are right off the beach. Different than any other place ive stayed hosts were helpful too.
Hamaca Surf was amazing!! It's located right on the beach with amazing views, good vibes and a fun atmosphere! Mathieu and the rest of the Hamaca Surf family were very welcoming and so helpful! The hostel is perfectly simple & clean and has a great restaurant/beach bar next door... The hostel is also very safe. I had such a great time there and in Tamarindo!
Merci Matthieu, Anna, Toto, Saul, Julio, Pata et Blanca. (Thomas wasn't there). A bientot!!
We stayed at this hostel for 2 nights and we loved it! The food was amazing (try ceviche!), the place is right next to the beach and the people are very friendly. I highly recommand this place to anyone who wants to experience pura vida!
Very pleased with my experience at Hamaca. Hosts were most accommodating, very friendly, food excellent, atmosphere great. Would stay here . If you don't mind the experience of sleeping on a hammock just a few yards from the waves crashing in on the Beach then this spot suits you well. ¡Pura Vida!
