I have lived in the Napa Valley for almost 20 years and love it here. What better way to share it then with my lovely guest cottage? I enjoy hiking, the arts, wine and the Valley's many fabulous restaurants.

Can't wait for my next trip to St. Helena and a return to Elaine's pristine cottage. Perfectly located for CIA and so comfortable to return to after a day there or anywhere. She's so lovely and interesting. Wish I could have stayed much longer. The cottage is spotless, well-appointed and exactly my style -- outdoor space included. Many thanks!
A truly great escape for two. Comfortable bed with a separate couch/tv area. I appreciated the remote for the heater so I could turn it on before getting out of bed in the morning. Small fridge and coffee provided so we brought breakfast sandwiches and heated them up in the provided microwave to enjoy with our coffee. Easy and convenient before our days of wine tasting.
Very convenient to the wineries we went to in St Helena, Spring Mountain and Stags Leap area.
There are lots of windows and light. Two outdoor seating areas that we didn't get to enjoy because it was just a bit too chilly at night by the time we got back in the evening.
The smaller windows don't have blinds so if you need it dark in the morning to sleep bring an eye mask. I'm an early riser so it didn't bother me but it might to some.
Elaine is a gracious host and definitely made sure we had everything we needed. It was perfect for us and so much better than staying at a hotel!
Beautiful little, private, cottage about 5-10 minute drive from St Helena. Very clean, well supplied, would definitely recommend to a couple going to explore Napa Valley.
This was a very special place to stay on our first trip to the Napa Valley. Elaine's home is beautiful and the pictures don't do justice to the beautiful decor details and the leafy, peaceful setting. It was the perfect base to visit St Helena (very close) and Yountville and then escape for a little tranquil downtime. She has thought of everything to make guests comfortable and the cottage is separate so there is a real feeling of privacy. We loved it.
The listing was exactly as described, stylish, clean and comfortable. The bonus was the field of wildflowers and flitting butterflies just behind the property and in view through the window.
Really nice, clean and updated space. I would recommend to anyone visiting St. Helena.
Elaine's Cottage was the perfect place to stay for our weekend in the Napa Valley. We like the northern end of the valley and the cottage was a great location for us and an easy drive to St. Helena and Calistoga. It is the perfect size for a couple. The bed is comfortable and the bedding is very warm - which we appreciated since we don't like having the heat on at night. The cottage is well designed and very clean. We'd highly recommend it.
Elaine's cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. Though the photos provided online are lovely, they do not fully capture the unique charm and warm atmosphere of this cottage.
With regard to cleanliness, the cottage was impeccably clean and prepared for our arrival early in the day. There was no shortage of clean linens or dishes, and there was even a picnic mat for those lovely sunny days in Napa Valley.
When we had trouble finding the exact location on the map, Elaine was quick to answer and provide us with detailed directions to the cottage. Throughout our stay, Elaine was available and willing to provide recommendations for dining and winery locales in the area.
We sincerely appreciate the care she takes in preparing a welcoming, cozy, and clean place for her guests. We would highly recommend her cottage as the ideal location for a stay in Napa Valley.
We loved this place! Beautiful guest house in an amazing location. We were extremely comfortable and taken care of. Elaine was a great host and we can't wait to come back.
Elaine communicated well via e mail how to find her Cottage and let us know she would be out of town when we arrived. Her description of her location was accurate and we were able to pull up in her long driveway and let ourselves in. The Cottage was as described and depicted on the website. The décor is well done and the space is bright with windows. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in during our travels. We were conveniently located for a conference we were attending at the Culinary Institute at Greystone about 5 to 10 minutes away in St. Helena. The area is quite quiet and we slept well at night. There is a refrigerator and a microwave, with some dishes, but not a full kitchen as advertised. This was okay for us as we planned to eat out or at out conference. The WiFi worked well. The heater was electric and attached on the wall near the ceiling. It was a bit noisy and had a light come on when it was running which was distracting.
Since it was raining most of the week we were there we may have needed to use the heater more than would normally be expected in the Napa Valley. Elaine was not at all intrusive, which is our preference. She did introduce herself the second day we were there. She was friendly and asked if we needed anything. She has a group of employees come to the house on Tuesdays and Thursdays who are quiet, but the parking is full so it required backing the car all the way down her driveway. On our departure day we discovered a tire on our rental car went flat and Elaine came out to see if we needed any assistance when the AAA guy showed up. She has a cute poodle named Houdini who likes to give hugs. He barks a little, but he does not come into the space of the cottage yard. Overall we were pleased with our stay. I think we paid a premium to be near the Culinary Institute and it is likely we could have found a cheaper alternative in Calistoga or St. Helena or a comparably priced luxury hotel with more amenities. However it suited our need to be close to our conference.
