Ben and his team are great people.
Ben was really friendly and helpful, along with everyone in the house. The couch was comfortable and everyone was respectful of the space I was staying in. The house is only a short walk to the Stanford area, which has lots of things to do. If you are visiting or stopping in the area, I recommend Ben's couch because of the great price, location, and people.
I loved staying with Ben and his friends. They are super cool dudes and you will regret not being able to stay there longer.
The couch is very comfy and you get a TV with Netflix and Hulu on it, so in case you get bored, which very likely will not happen in the Valley, you can de-stress for a night.
Downtown Palo Alto is a half an hour walk. If you have enough time you can almost walk everywhere near Palo Alto.
The listing was definitely what I expected and was great value for money. The location is pretty convenient and the house is well equipped. As other people have mentioned, if you're a clean freak you may want to look elsewhere, but the house was more than clean enough for me and seemed to be getting cleaner/less cluttered by the day. Most importantly, the other housemates were welcoming, helpful (gave me a couple of rides), and fun to be around. If there was a room opening up, I would have hoped to stay more permanently here!
Ben et al are great people. The couch is comfortable, the conversations are good. Very chill. Perfect kind of place for me.
These guys are super chill. Went above and beyond to make my stay comfy. One of my top bnb experiences anywhere.
Thanks Benji, Julie and friends for lending me your couch for a week.
It is not 'just' your average couch. It comes with a huge TV, that streams shows and movies to nurse your jetlag. And a never ending crowd of roomates and their friends crashing in this big and warm hearted house.
This house is in a great location and seems to always be filled with interesting (in a good, worldly way) people. Ben was nice, accommodating, and easy to communicate with. I had to change my departing flight and leave a day earlier and Ben updated the reservation and refunded me instantly. The house is not immaculate but that's expected with 6 people in and out of the house everyday. This house is the best way to stay in Palo Alto, meet great people, feel welcomed, and not spend a lot of money. He also let me borrow his bike!
Ben and his roommates are really nice, chill guys and they made me feel welcome right away. While I just needed a place to crash for a few nights, "the Shire" feels very home-y and is a great place to hang out. The description is accurate when it says that the house isn't a good place for neat freaks, so that's something to be wary of, but it's a great option for someone who doesn't mind some mess and is looking for a cheap place to stay in Palo Alto.
I slept very well, met interesting people, and even got a glass of good french wine. Definitely worth the very cheap price. Thanks Ben and the roommates!
Ben was a very pleasant guest, he has my beautiful apartment assumed as it is and leave the same way. I can tell only good things about Ben and hope he visits me again.
Ben was a great guest, couldn't have been better. Very respectful of the house and communicated well with everything. Thank you Ben.
Hosting Benjamin was a pleasure. He is respectful and took care of our flat during an entire weekend. We surely recommend him on Airbnb.
